Welcome to the North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults (Senior Center) where all our "Young at Heart" seniors gather for an abundance of activities! We offer delicious low-cost meals, plenty of smiling faces, and an activity to suit any personality. Please stop by and pick up one of our brochures and/or newsletters to find out what we are all about.  We would love to see you!

Ladies Brunch Ladies Brunch Schedule
Ladies brunch is held monthly and includes entertainment along with a hot entrée, fruit, juice and coffee for only $4.
 
Silver Sneakers Silver Sneakers Classic at LCCC Ridge Campus
Silver Sneakers Classic will be held at the LCCC Ridge Campus January 2 through May 13, 2023 on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM and Thursdays at 10:30 AM. Increase muscle strength, range of movement and improve activities for daily living. You will have a chair for seated exercises and standing support. The instructor can modify exercises for your fitness level.
 
Happy Valentine's Day Valentine's Day Party, February 9, 2023
Join us at the Valentine's Day Party on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11 AM. Mary Beth Ions, master violinist, will provide a romantic, yet lively and engaging musical program. Mary Beth performs with The Cleveland Pops and has also played with a few performers who may be familiar to you, including Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis and Barry Manilow. In addition to playing, she will entertain you with anecdotes and stories of making music with these legendary singers. Cost is $6 and includes lunch, dessert and entertainment. Valentine cookies Valentine's Lunch & Cookie Decorating, February 13, 2023
Our friends at Food-Conscious.org will provide a healthy lunch and cooking demonstration, followed by cookie decorating to sweeten your Valentine's week on February 13, 2023 at 11:30 AM. Physical Therapist Dr. Gina Croft will present The Tissue is the Issue on February 27, 2023 at 1 PM. The soft tissue is often overlooked as a driver for pain or movement restrictions. Join Dr. Gina Croft as she discusses the different types of tissues found in the body and why these tissues are contributing to the inability to move fully and without pain. Taco and Trivia Tuesday Taco and Trivia Tuesday!
Come with a team or form one at the event. Lunch will be served at noon and trivia will start at 12:30 p.m. The cost per person is $4.00. We will make it mild so if you want it spicy, bring your own hot sauce! Please RSVP by Monday at noon if you will be having lunch with us. If you are just joining us for trivia, reservations are not required. Please call the front desk at (440) 353-0828. January and February dates are as follows: January 3, 17 and February 7 and 21, 2023.

Heart & Sole Indoor Walking, LCCC and Liberty Elementary School
North Ridgeville Heart & Sole collaborative invites the community to keep active this fall and winter by walking indoors at LCCC University Partnership Ridge Campus and Liberty Elementary School.
 
Walking Warriors Walking Warriors Every Tuesday
Join our Walking Warriors every Tuesday morning at 9 AM.  We will take a nice walk around South Central Park. Meet at the center and sign in, then we will cross the street as a group. Feel free to bring a friend or come alone and make some new ones!  All levels of fitness are welcome. You can go at your own pace. Call the front desk at (440) 353-0828 to let us know you are coming so we don’t leave anyone behind.
 
CardioDance CardioDance With Carrie
CardioDance offers a great workout to the hits of today and yesterday and is adaptable to a variety of fitness levels.  The next session is on Tuesdays at 9 AM, January 3-February 7 and February 14-March 21, 2023. The 6-week sessions is $30 per person. Payments can be made in cash or check made payable to NR Office for Older Adults and is due by the first class session. senior lunch and bingo Senior Lunch and Bingo Every Wednesday
Midweek social is a lot of fun with lunch, cards and/or bingo!  On Wednesdays come at 11:45 AM for a delicious hot lunch served at noon to include an entrée, dessert and beverage for $5. Reservations are required by calling (440) 353-0828 by noon on Tuesday.
 
Free Blood Pressure Screening Blood Pressure Checks
Blood pressure checks are available on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM. Please stop in and see our lovely volunteer nurses. If you have your blood pressure logs or cards please bring them with you. 
 
Total Foot Care Foot Clinic
Dr. Thomas Emmert, Podiatrist of Total Foot Care, will be at the Center on February 1, April 19, July 5, September 20 and December 6, 2023 at 8 AM.  Appointments are on a first come first served basis by signing in at the front desk upon your arrival. If this is your first visit with the doctor, it is recommended that you contact Dr. Emmert's office at 216-529-1800 to insure they have the necessary information.  The cost of the clinic is usually covered by Medicare and supplemental insurance.  
 
The Book Nook Book Nook
Be sure to check out our updated Magazine & Book Nook Library, offering books and magazines for reading. Feel free to take something home, just return it when you are done.

Monday Craft Day Monday Crafts
Everyone is welcome to come on Mondays from 10 AM-2 PM to join in the fun and the making of special crafts. Bring your ideas or share in ours. Lunch will be available for purchase at $2.00. Please RSVP the week prior by calling (440) 353-0828.
 
Canasta Canasta & Euchre Anyone?
If you are interested in joining the fun group that meets on Wednesdays for an afternoon of fellowship and fun from 12:30-4:00 PM, please call (440) 353-0828. 
 
Euchre Euchre and Pinochle Weekly Card Games and Dominos, too!
Euchre, pinochle and dominos meet on Thursdays from Noon until 4 PM.  Join in the fun each week. Please RSVP by calling the Senior Center at (440) 353-0828. 
Mahjongg Mahjongg Meets Every Thursday

“Mahjongg” is an Ancient Chinese Tile Game. This group meets every Thursday at 12 noon (except on Super Thursdays) and always welcomes new members. If you've never played, we offer instruction as to how to play the game. A player's card is required for a small fee.

 
Painting Freestyle Art Group Meets on Wednesdays
Are you interested in art or just enjoy painting freestyle?  Our watercolor enthusiasts gather for painting and fun on Wednesday mornings and would love to have you join their group. If interested, just bring your paints and stop by the Senior Center any Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM. Please RSVP by calling the Senior Center at (440) 353-0828.
 
Golden Buckeye Golden Buckeye Card Information
Participation in the Golden Buckeye program is free to all Ohio residents who are: age 60 or over; age 18-59 with a Social Security Administration defined disability. 
 
Puzzle Puzzle Exchange
The Senior Center will be hosting Puzzle Exchange the last Tuesday of each month from 11 AM-12:00 PM. Puzzled by what to do with those completed puzzles? Bring your stack of completed puzzles (limit of 3) and exchange with others or you are welcome to take as many as you'd like.
