Full Time Firefighter/Paramedic Class D
Full Time Patrol Officer Class D

Civil Service Commission is offering open, competitive written examinations to establish an eligibility list for BOTH entry level Patrol Officer Class D and entry level Firefighter/Paramedic Class D positions. Testing and applications will be accepted from December 2, 2024 to February 17, 2025. Full Testing services for both positions of Patrol Officer Class D and Firefighter/Paramedic Class D are through National Testing Network (NTN).

Athletic Coordinator
Department: Parks & Recreation
Employment Status: Part time
Working Hours: Varies, includes weekends and evenings
Salary: $15.40 hourly rate

The Athletic Coordinator reports to the Recreation Supervisor and plays an integral role in the fulfillment of North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation’s mission and vision. The Athletic Coordinator will provide oversight for all sports leagues and athletic programming. Please see the job description for more details.

Qualifications: At least 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent; must possess a valid driver's license and retain the ability to be insured by the city's liability carrier; must be able to pass a thorough background check and drug test.

Laborer
Department: Public Works, Service Division
Union/FLSA Status: AFSCME/non-exempt
Employment Status: Full time
Salary: $23.27/hourly (non-CDL); $24.18/hourly (CDL Class B)

The Laborer position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled work associated with the maintenance and repair of municipal streets, sewers and waterlines. This position reports to the Director of Public Works or designee. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the potential for work call-outs after 3:00 p.m., weekends and holidays. Please see the job description for more details.

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of secondary education (high school or GED), plus six (6) months of full-time laborer experience. A valid Ohio Commercial Driver's license (CDL) Class B is required; will consider applications without a CDL Class B with the stipulation of obtaining a valid license within one year of employment.

Assistant Chief Building Official
Department: Building Division
Civil Service Status: Unclassified
Employment Status: Full time
Salary Range: $82,000-$96,000
Reports To: Chief Building Official
Working Hours: Normal business hours with some evening meetings as assigned

Under the general supervision of the Chief Building Official, this is an advanced technical and supervisory position. The Assistant Chief Building Official assists in the administration and enforcement of the state building code, city building and property maintenance ordinances, zoning and other related regulations through supervisory, inspection, review and enforcement duties. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree, training and/or education in architecture, engineering or construction management preferred. Five years of experience in building construction or as a general contractor or superintendent of building construction dealing with all phases and trades of construction. Inspection and plan review experience for commercial and residential structures a plus. Must have great communication skills and work well with the general public.

Licensure and certification requirements include:
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License; must remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.
• State of Ohio Board of Building Standards Certification for Building Official or an interim certificate with the ability to obtain a permanent certificate within 6 months of hire.
• State of Ohio Board of Building Standards Certification for Residential Building Official.
• Building Inspector Certification and additional certification in one of the building and construction trades, such as electrical or plumbing, preferred.
