North Ridgeville is a Dementia Friendly Community, the first in Lorain County. This designation means that community members are educated as Dementia Friends through the Ohio Council for Cognitive Health. Dementia Champions are available to offer one-hour educational sessions to help the community at large understand what living with dementia is like for the individual and how caregivers and family members are affected. Many city personnel, including our first responders, and community members have become a Dementia Friend. If you would like to learn how you can become a dementia friend, or would like to host an education session, please contact Emily Lockshine at (440) 490-2055.
