City Offices Transition to New Phone Numbers
The City of North Ridgeville has upgraded its phone system and transitioned to a new vendor. With this change and the opening of the new police station on March 18, all city phone numbers are changing, with the exception of the French Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This change will be effective March 18 at 5:00 a.m.
Men's Breakfast Schedule
It’s a wonderful morning of friendship at our Men’s Breakfast. If you are 55 or older, join us at 9 AM for a hot entrée, coffee, fruit cup, and juice are all included for $4.
Ladies Brunch Schedule
Ladies brunch is held monthly and includes entertainment along with a hot entrée, fruit, juice and coffee for only $4.
Senior Strong - The Four Agreements Book Discussion, March 1-22, 2024
Join us each Friday, March 1 through March 22, in City Hall Council Chambers for the book discussion. A practical guide to personal freedom, The Four Agreements outlines four principles for living a meaningful life. Discussion led by Bob Piovarchy of the Far West Center. RSVP for this series by February 29.
My Body and Yoga, the Benefits of Yoga As We Age, March 23, 2024
Join Brandy and Kip on March 23 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for this 90-minute workshop focused on the natural changes our bodies make as we age and how yoga may benefit us. Interact with the instructors about topics including changes in our posture, balance, flexibility and strength. We will then learn yoga poses to help us adapt to these changes. Everyone is welcome and no yoga experience is necessary. Yoga poses will be done using chairs. Dress comfortably and wear walking shoes or something similar. Cost is $10.

Come play along with Stacey as she calls bingo with the top hits from these rock 'n roll influenced decades: March 15 at 11:30 a.m. (1970s); April 10 at 2:15 p.m. (1960s) and April 30 at 1:00 p.m. (1960s).
The Best Medicine? with Ted Smith
Did Norman Cousins really laugh himself back to health in the 1960’s? Was it all in his head? Is there any scientific research to explain the Placebo Effect? How do emotions impact our physical health? This seven-part series with Ted Smith, Instructor, will be held on Mondays, April 1 through May 20 at 11:00 a.m. and will explore how Western medicine is coming to grips with the fact that how a patient feels about their condition is a determining factor in recovery. No class April 8.
Lunch & Learn: Acupuncture as an Effective Treatment for Neurological Conditions, April 9, 2024
Dr. Brenden Hales, Transcendence Health, will be at the center on April 9 at 11:30 a.m. Learn how Eastern and Western medicine practices have been combined to improve the treatment outcomes of neurological deficits. Treatment for conditions discussed include stroke, traumatic brain injury and concussion, shingles, Bell’s palsy, neuropathy, paralysis, vertigo and more! Hear testimonials from patients that have seen success from neuroacupuncture! Lunch will be provided by Wellspring Hospice. Register by April 5th.
Medicaid and Estate Planning, April 11, 2024
Scott Winfield, a Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist and Daniel Kloos, an elder law attorney will present Medicaid and Estate Planning on April 11 at 10:00 a.m. This informational session includes helpful information about selling an estate, wills, trusts, POA’s, the Medicaid 5-year look back period and Medicaid Estate Recovery. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP by April 9.

Senior Fitness with Kathy Hungerman
Senior Fitness is a new class, with an emphasis on strength, flexibility, posture and falls prevention.
CardioDance Sessions
CardioDance offers a great workout to the hits of today and yesterday and is adaptable to a variety of fitness levels. Winter Session II is February 27 through April 9 and Spring Session I is April 16 through May 21. Each 6-week session is $36 per person. Payments can be made in cash or check made payable to NR Office for Older Adults and is due by the first class session. Please call (440) 353-0828 for more information.
Hobby Hour, March 20 and April 29
Join us for Hobby Hour on March 20 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and April 29 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. for Hobby Hour! Do you knit, crochet, whittle, paint, quilt, Sudoku, word search or any hobby that you can bring to the Senior Center? Join us to chat & __________ (you fill in the blank). Coffee, tea and light snacks provided. You might pick up a new hobby or find others like you.
Soups-On Mondays!

Make It Mondays
Everyone is welcome to come on Mondays from 10 AM-2 PM to join in the fun and the making of special crafts. There's a different project each week.
Taco and Trivia Tuesday!
Taco & Trivia Tuesday is held every first and third Tuesday of the month. Come with a team or form one at the event. Lunch will be served at noon and trivia will start at 12:30 p.m. The cost for lunch is $4. We will make it mild so if you want it spicy, bring your own hot sauce! Please RSVP by Monday at noon if you will be having lunch with us. If you are just joining us for trivia, reservations are not required. Please call the front desk at (440) 353-0828.
The Breakfast Club
A monthly social breakfast, open to adults 55 and over is held the second Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $4. If you plan to attend, please RSVP by calling (440) 353-0828.
Foot Clinic
Dr. Thomas Emmert, Podiatrist of Total Foot Care, will be at the Center on May 15, 2024 at 8 AM. Appointments are on a first come first served basis by signing in at the front desk upon your arrival. If this is your first visit with the doctor, it is recommended that you contact Dr. Emmert's office at 216-529-1800 to insure they have the necessary information. The cost of the clinic is usually covered by Medicare and supplemental insurance.
Chair Yoga with Kip Cronk
Chair Yoga is perfect for all ages and abilities, no experience is necessary. There are two winter sessions and a spring session planned.

Chair Volleyball Every First and Third Monday
Join us every first and third Monday at 12:45 PM for a spirited game of volleyball. We will divide into teams and let the fun begin. Games will be held outdoors when the weather permits. No prior experience necessary!
Line Dancing with Mary Harwood
Line Dancing with Mary Harwood every Wednesday from 10-11 AM at the Safetyville Building. Get your heart pumping and your feet moving. This guided dance session is for beginner and intermediate dancers. Bring dancing shoes and a water bottle. Cost: $6 at the door.
Blood Pressure Checks
Blood pressure checks are available on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM. Please stop in and see our lovely volunteer nurses. If you have your blood pressure logs or cards please bring them with you.
Book Nook
Be sure to check out our updated Magazine & Book Nook Library, offering books and magazines for reading. Feel free to take something home, just return it when you are done.
Senior Lunch and Bingo Every Wednesday
Midweek social is a lot of fun with lunch, cards and/or bingo! On Wednesdays come at 11:45 AM for a delicious hot lunch served at noon to include an entrée, dessert and beverage for $5. Reservations are required by calling (440) 353-0828 by noon on Tuesday.

Mahjongg Meets Every Thursday
“Mahjongg” is an Ancient Chinese Tile Game. This group meets every Thursday at 12 noon (except on Super Thursdays) and always welcomes new members. If you've never played, we offer instruction as to how to play the game. A player's card is required for a small fee.
Watercolors Wednesdays
Are you interested in art or just enjoy painting freestyle? Our art enthusiasts gather for painting and fun on Wednesday mornings and would love to have you join their group. Golden Buckeye Card Information
Participation in the Golden Buckeye program is free to all Ohio residents who are: age 60 or over; age 18-59 with a Social Security Administration defined disability.
Puzzle Exchange
The Senior Center will be hosting Puzzle Exchange the last Tuesday of each month from 11 AM-1:00 PM. Puzzled by what to do with those completed puzzles? Bring your stack of completed puzzles (limit of 3) and exchange with others or you are welcome to take as many as you'd like.
