Welcome to the North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults (Senior Center) where all our "Young at Heart" seniors gather for an abundance of activities! We offer delicious low-cost meals, plenty of smiling faces, and and activity to suit any personality. "Young at Heart" Brunch - Patriotic Show with Heart to Heart!
Join us on May 31, 2018 from 10:30-11:30 AM for a star spangled morning in celebration of Memorial Day with Linda Kirk "Heart to Heart." A lively salute to our country and our veterans consisting of music both live and pre-recorded with fun facts and information about our armed forces. Brunch includes a hot entree with fruit, juice and coffee and is served at 10:30 AM with performance at 11-11:30 AM at the cost of $3.00.  Please call the Senior Center at (440) 353-0828 to make your reservation.

Summer Concert, August 3, 2018
Logan Wells will take the stage on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the North Ridgeville Early Childhood Learning Center (behind Dairy Queen).  Tickets are $8 presale at the Senior Center or $10 at the door.  For more information please call the Senior Center at (440) 353-0828.  Logan Wells has performed professionally for over 24 years and for the past 12 years has expanded her repertoire to a wide variety of musical genres. She has shared the stage with Marty Stuart, Terri Clark, Billy Dean and Shenandoah to name just a few.  
Hearing Testing, July 5, 2018
Mobile Hearing Service will be conducting a FREE hearing test for seniors at the Senior Center on July 5 from 1-3:00 PM.  Other services such as equipment cleaning will be at a minimal fee.  Please call 440-353-0828 to schedule your appointment. 
Rummage Sale, July 17, 2018
The North Ridgeville Senior Center will be hosting its annual Rummage Sale on July 17 from 10 AM-3 PM.  Items for sale include craft supplies, kitchen supplies, and various other gems that have been collected over the year.  Lunch will also be available for purchase from 11 AM-1 PM.  We are also offering the opportunity for individuals to purchase table space to sell their own items.  Table space is six foot at a fee of $10.00 (limited tables available).  Call Shelly at (440) 353-0835 for table rental information. 
Trips, Trips, Trips!

AARP Safe Driving Classroom Course, July 23, 2018
The Senior Center will be hosting AARP Safe Driving Classroom Course on July 23, 2018 from 11 AM-3:30  PM. 
Walking/Balance Program, May 22-June 26, 2018
Free six-week session from 9-10 AM with exercises, instruction of the senior fitness station, walk South Central Park trail, have vitals taken and refreshments. For more information and to register, call 353-0828 no later than May 14, 2018.  
Foot Clinic at the Senior Center
Dr. Thomas Emmert, Podiatrist of Total Foot Care, will offer a Foot Clinic at the Senior Center on Wednesdays, June 6 and June 20; July 18 and August 29 between 8-11:00 AM. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.  If it is your first visit, please contact Dr. Emmert's office at 216-529-1800 to insure they have the necessary information.  
Health Insurance Counseling
Health Insurance Counseling is available by appointment only at the Senior Center. To arrange for a counseling appointment, call (440) 353-0856 or (440) 353-0857. 
Golden Buckeye Card Information
Participation in the Golden Buckeye program is free to all Ohio residents who are: age 60 or over; age 18-59 with a Social Security Administration defined disability.  
Line Dancing Classes
Ronna Murray and her line dancing classes are in full swing on Tuesdays. Beginners meet from noon-1:00 PM and Intermediate group steps off from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM.  Cost is $20 for a six-week session and can be paid at the first lesson. 
Yoga Now Offered!
Yoga is looking for more participants before a class begins, so anyone interested please contact Shelly at 353-0835.  Instruction is provided by a certified Yoga instructor, Midori Sato. Yoga helps one achieve a healthy balance of mind, body, spirit and also improve your coordination, flexibility and to stay healthy. Classes are held on Tuesdays at 10:45 AM. The fee is $36 per 8-week session. Pre-registration and payment required.  Please call (440) 353-0835 for more information or to register. 
Freestyle Art Group Meets on Wednesdays
Are you interested in art or just enjoy painting freestyle?  Our watercolor enthusiasts gather for painting and fun on Wednesday mornings and would love to have you join their group. If interested, just bring your paints and stop by the Senior Center any Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM. 
Canasta Anyone?
If you are interested in joining the fun group that meets on Wednesdays for an afternoon of fellowship and fun from 1-4 PM, please call Shelly at (440) 353-0835.  
Exercise Classes Every Monday
Join Fitness Instructor, Diane Mehlman, for weekly exercise classes on Mondays from 9-9:50 AM. All exercises can be done to meet your ability and strengths. All participants will need a set of 3 pound weights, stretch bands and a bottle of water. Cost is $20 per month. Try before you buy - first class is free.  
Monday Crafts
Everyone is welcome to come on Mondays from 10 AM-2 PM to join in the fun, fellowship and the making of special crafts. Bring your ideas or share in ours. A soup lunch including beverage is available for $.35 at noon. 
Euchre and Pinochle Weekly Card Games
Cards are played on Thursdays at 12 noon except on Super Thursdays when all card games begin at 1:30 PM. Join in the fun each week from noon until 4 PM.  Refreshments will be served. 
Mahjongg Meets Every Thursday

“Mahjongg” is an Ancient Chinese Tile Game. This group meets every Thursday at 12 noon (except on Super Thursdays) and always welcomes new members. 

Tai-Chi Every Tuesday

Come join us for our Balance Tai-Chi every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Tai-Chi uses movements to improve balance and will focus on strengthening muscles of the ankles, knees, hips and legs which will increase flexibility and coordination. Call to register at 353-0835. Cost is $27 per 6-week session.

Puzzle Exchange
The Senior Center will be hosting Puzzle Exchange the last Tuesday of each month from 11 AM-12:00 PM. 
Blood Pressure Checks
Walk in and have your blood pressure checked by one of our friendly retired volunteer nurses on the 3rd Wednesday of each month between 10 AM-noon at the Senior Center. The is no charge for this service and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
