Welcome to the North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults (Senior Center) where all our "Young at Heart" seniors gather for an abundance of activities! We offer delicious low-cost meals, plenty of smiling faces, and and activity to suit any personality. Healthy Outlook Series
The Healthy Outlook Series will be held on Mondays from March 5 through March 26, 2018 from 1-2:00 PM at the Senior Center.  The series is free of charge, please register by calling the North Ridgeville Senior Center at (440) 353-0828. 
Hawaiian Luau, March 29, 2018
Young at Heart Brunch "Hawaiian Luau" will be held on March 29, 2018 at 10:30 AM.  Island Jeff and his Steel Pan music will transport the audience to blue skies, palm trees, tranquil waters of the Islands! Tax Preparation
Tax season is upon us!  Tax preparers will be at the Senior Center every Tuesday from February 6 through mid-April from 9:30 AM-3:00 PM.  Please call 353-0828 to schedule your appointment.

Mini Spa Day, April 30, 2018
The cosmetology students from the JVS Adult Career Center will be providing hand massages and nail painting for the ladies just in time for Mother's Day on Monday, April 30th from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. Refreshments and goodie bags are provided by Brookdale-Westlake. 
Walking/Balance Program, May 22-June 26, 2018
Free six-week session from 9-10 AM with exercises, instruction of the senior fitness station, walk South Central Park trail, have vitals taken and refreshments. For more information and to register, call 353-0828 no later than May 14, 2018.  
Looking for a Place to Walk Indoors During the Cold Winter Months?
Indoor walking at the new Academic Center/Athletic Complex at 34620 Bainbridge Road on the following dates from 6-7:30 PM: January 11, 18, 25; February 1, 8, 15, 22; March 22, 29.  Enter through the community entry doors on the north side of the Academic Center.  
Foot Clinic at the Senior Center
Dr. Thomas Emmert, Podiatrist of Total Foot Care, will offer a Foot Clinic at the Senior Center on Wednesdays, March 14, March 28 and April 25 between 8-11:00 AM. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.  If it is your first visit, please contact Dr. Emmert's office at 216-529-1800 to insure they have the necessary information.  
Hearing Testing, March 1 and May 3, 2018
Mobile Hearing Service will be conducting a FREE hearing test for seniors at the Senior Center on March 1 and May 3 from 1-2:00 PM.  Other services such as equipment cleaning will be at a minimal fee.  Please call 440-353-0828 to schedule your appointment. 
Trips, Trips, Trips!
See the upcoming trip schedule.  There's something for everyone!  Reservations are now being accepted. Register by calling 353-0835.  All trips must be paid in full thirty days in advance unless otherwise stated. 
Health Insurance Counseling
Health Insurance Counseling is available by appointment only at the Senior Center. To arrange for a counseling appointment, call (440) 353-0856 or (440) 353-0857. 
Golden Buckeye Card Information
Participation in the Golden Buckeye program is free to all Ohio residents who are: age 60 or over; age 18-59 with a Social Security Administration defined disability.  
Line Dancing Classes
Ronna Murray and her line dancing classes are in full swing on Tuesdays. Beginners meet from noon-1:00 PM and Intermediate group steps off from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM.  Cost is $20 for a six-week session and can be paid at the first lesson. 
Yoga Now Offered!
Yoga is looking for more participants before a class begins, so anyone interested please contact Shelly at 353-0835.  Instruction is provided by a certified Yoga instructor, Midori Sato. Yoga helps one achieve a healthy balance of mind, body, spirit and also improve your coordination, flexibility and to stay healthy. Classes are held on Tuesdays at 10:45 AM. The fee is $36 per 8-week session. Pre-registration and payment required.  Please call (440) 353-0835 for more information or to register. 
Freestyle Art Group Meets on Wednesdays
Are you interested in art or just enjoy painting freestyle?  Our watercolor enthusiasts gather for painting and fun on Wednesday mornings and would love to have you join their group. If interested, just bring your paints and stop by the Senior Center any Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM. 
Canasta Anyone?
If you are interested in joining the fun group that meets on Wednesdays for an afternoon of fellowship and fun from 1-4 PM, please call Shelly at (440) 353-0835.  
Exercise Classes Every Monday
Join Fitness Instructor, Diane Mehlman, for weekly exercise classes on Mondays from 9-9:50 AM. All exercises can be done to meet your ability and strengths. All participants will need a set of 3 pound weights, stretch bands and a bottle of water. Cost is $15 per month. Try before you buy - first class is free.  
Monday Crafts
Everyone is welcome to come on Mondays from 10 AM-2 PM to join in the fun, fellowship and the making of special crafts. Bring your ideas or share in ours. A soup lunch including beverage is available for $.35 at noon. 
Euchre and Pinochle Weekly Card Games
Cards are played on Thursdays at 12 noon except on Super Thursdays when all card games begin at 1:30 PM. Join in the fun each week from noon until 4 PM.  Refreshments will be served. 
Mahjongg Meets Every Thursday

“Mahjongg” is an Ancient Chinese Tile Game. This group meets every Thursday at 12 noon (except on Super Thursdays) and always welcomes new members. 

Tai-Chi Every Tuesday

Come join us for our Balance Tai-Chi every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Tai-Chi uses movements to improve balance and will focus on strengthening muscles of the ankles, knees, hips and legs which will increase flexibility and coordination. Call to register at 353-0835. Cost is $36 per 8-week session.

Puzzle Exchange
The Senior Center will be hosting Puzzle Exchange the last Tuesday of each month from 11 AM-12:00 PM. 
Blood Pressure Checks
Walk in and have your blood pressure checked by one of our friendly retired volunteer nurses on the 3rd Wednesday of each month between 10 AM-noon at the Senior Center. The is no charge for this service and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
