Burns Road To Close June 26-27, 2018
Weather permitting, beginning Tuesday, June 26 at 7 AM and concluding Wednesday, June 27 at 5 PM, Rural Lorain County Water Authority will be investigating and repairing a leak on their high pressure 24" water main that crosses Burns Road near the North Ridgeville/Elyria Corporation line (NS Railroad Crossing).   
Star Spangled Celebration, July 3, 2018
Star Spangled Celebration will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at South Central Park. Party in the Park will be held from 7-9:30 PM followed by fireworks at dark.  Bainbridge Road will be closed between Root Road and Route 83 starting at 1:00 PM on July 3 and will reopen the morning of July 4 by 8 AM.

ODOT Urban Paving Project To Begin July 16, 2018
Portions of Lorain Road/Route 10 and the Alternate SR 83 access to SR 10 will be resurfaced.  Lorain Road will be repaved from the Ohio Turnpike ramps to the Cuyahoga County line, including the I-480 ramps. Lorain Road west of Route 83 to Alternate 83, and across Alternate 83 to Chestnut Ridge Road will be repaved. The Ohio Department of Transportation's contractor is scheduled to begin work the week of July 16, 2018 with a project completion date of August 29, 2018. Traffic will be maintained during construction. 
Road Closures: Pitts Blvd. and Ranger Way
Ohio Department of Transportation to close Pitts Blvd. and Ranger Way on Friday, June 8 for thirty days to perform pavement repairs. The detour route for both street closures is to take Lear Nagle Road to Chestnut Ridge Road to Bainbridge Road to access both Pitts Blvd. and Ranger Way.  Please note: Pitts Blvd. will be open to traffic from Wil-Lou to approximately 500 feet south of Center Ridge Road. 
Summer Concert Series in the Park
New this year to South Central Park is the FREE Summer Concert Series. Bring the entire family out along with your chairs or blanket to enjoy this traditional summer pastime.  
Movies in the Park
Join us for a free Movie in the Park! Bring your chair, have a picnic dinner, catch up with your neighbors and enjoy the free movie series at South Central Park beginning at dusk. 
Street Repairs and Paving Schedule 2018
The City will see over $1.5 million in street repairs this year with the City's share coming in at approximately $1.2 million.  The City does recognize that not all streets can be done but has prioritized the list of streets that will be paved this year within the budget limitations.   
Lorain County Solid Waste Management District Collection Center Announces New Hours
Effective May 21, 2018, the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District Collection Center will be changing their hours for residents to drop off household hazardous waste, e-scrap, recyclables, fluorescent lamps and ballasts, scrap tires, and papers to be shredded.  The new hours of operation are Mondays Noon-4 PM, Wednesdays Noon-6 PM and Saturdays 9 AM-3 PM.  The Collection Center is located at 540 South Abbe Road in Elyria. This service is free to Lorain County residents with a valid I.D. 
Fire Hydrant Flushing Throughout The City
Fire Hydrant flushing is underway throughout the city and will continue daily through the end of summer.  A slight discoloration of water is normal. Please run water until clear.  
New Headquarters Fire Station Update
The construction of the new headquarters fire station is on time and taking shape despite the cold wet weather we have experienced this year. The basement walls and apparatus bay footers have been poured and the first floor walls will be taking shape in the near future.  A new featured added to the city's website are aerial view progress videos that will be updated every few weeks.  To view, visit the Fire Department's webpage and click on the "New Fire Station Progress Video" link.  
Lorain Road/I-480 Interchange Improvements Project (updated 6-18-2018)
Construction is underway for the I-480/Lorain Road Signal Upgrade Project.  Lane closures on Lorain Road from I-480 eastbound ramp to Lear Nagle Road are to be expected.  
Center Ridge Road Widening Project to Begin April 2018
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will begin the construction phase of the widening of Center Ridge Road in April 2018.  ODOT will be providing construction updates on an ongoing basis and will be sharing this information on their website.  The City of North Ridgeville has provided a link to this website from the homepage.  Community members may also sign up to receive email updates on Lorain County projects by visiting ODOT's website at:  www.dot.state.oh.us/Divisions/Communications/Pages/default.aspx 
Replacement of Mills Road Bridge Over French Creek, Spring 2020
The City of North Ridgeville obtained a grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Municipal Bridge Program to provide federal funding for a major portion of the costs to replace the Mills Road bridge over French Creek.  The project is in the preliminary design stage, and construction is estimated to begin in Spring of 2020.
