New Headquarters Fire Station Update
The construction of the new headquarters fire station is on time and taking shape despite the cold wet weather we have experienced this year. The basement walls and apparatus bay footers have been poured and the first floor walls will be taking shape in the near future.  A new featured added to the city's website are aerial view progress videos that will be updated every few weeks.  To view, visit the Fire Department's webpage and click on the "New Fire Station Progress Video" link.  
Legal Notice, Luanne Drive Pump Station Replacement
Sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the Mayor, City Hall, 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039, until 11:00 AM on April 30, 2018 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for the Luanne Drive Pump Station Replacement project. 
Spaghetti Dinner, April 27, 2018
It's Spaghetti Dinner time at the North Ridgeville Senior Center! The next dinner is scheduled for Friday, April 27, 2018 from 5-7:00 PM at the Senior Center.  
Fishing Derby, Saturday, May 5, 2018
NR Parks and Recreation will be hosting the annual fishing derby on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 8 AM-noon at South Central Park.  
Discover the Ridge, May 12, 2018
The North Ridgeville Visitors Bureau will be hosting the annual Discover the Ridge on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 9 AM-3 PM.   
North Ridgeville Community Garden 2018 Season
Applications are now being accepted to participate in the 2018 growing season for the North Ridgeville Community Garden.  
Citywide Garage Sale Days, June 13-16, 2018
North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Bureau will be sponsoring the annual citywide Garage Sale Days from June 13-16, 2018. 
Lorain Road/I-480 Interchange Improvements Project
Construction is underway for the I-480/Lorain Road Signal Upgrade Project.  Lane closures on Lorain Road from I-480 eastbound ramp to Lear Nagle Road are to be expected. 
Center Ridge Road Widening Project to Begin April 2018
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will begin the construction phase of the widening of Center Ridge Road in April 2018.  ODOT will be providing construction updates on an ongoing basis and will be sharing this information on their website.  The City of North Ridgeville has provided a link to this website from the homepage.  Community members may also sign up to receive email updates on Lorain County projects by visiting ODOT's website at: 
Legal Notice, 2,000,000 Gallon Fluted Column Elevated Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project

Replacement of Mills Road Bridge Over French Creek, Spring 2020
The City of North Ridgeville obtained a grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Municipal Bridge Program to provide federal funding for a major portion of the costs to replace the Mills Road bridge over French Creek.  The project is in the preliminary design stage, and construction is estimated to begin in Spring of 2020. 
NOPEC Giving Electric Customers A Break On Utility Bills
Nearly 500,000 Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) electric customers will receive reduced rates on the generation portion of their utility bills thanks to a $9 million price reduction program implemented by NOPEC this spring. 
Street Repairs 2018
The City will see over $1.5 million in street repairs this year with the City's share coming in at approximately $1.2 million.  The City does recognize that not all streets can be done but has prioritized the list of streets that will be paved this year within the budget limitations.

First Energy's Ohio Utilities remind customers having difficulty paying their utility bills that they may be eligible for special financial assistance programs.  
North Ridgeville Ranked #1 Safest City in Ohio
NeighborhoodScout released their new analysis ranking North Ridgeville #1 in the state as the safest city in Ohio and the 13th safest in the nation.  NeighborhoodScout, a web-based platform from Location, Inc., compared the safety of cities with at least 25,000 people based on the total number of property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Safetyville 2018
The North Ridgeville Police Department is sponsoring its annual Safetyville Program in June 2018.  You can register for this year's program at the Kindergarten Information Night at the North Ridgeville Early Childhood Learning Center (formerly the Education Center) on February 15, 2018 from 6-8 PM and at the North Ridgeville Police Department on Saturday, February 17 from 9 AM-Noon.  All other registrations can be completed afterwards on a first come, first served basis at the Police Department.
