Full Time Patrol Officer Class "D"
Full Time Firefighter/Paramedic Class "D"

Civil Service Commission is offering open, competitive written examinations to establish an eligibility list for BOTH entry level Patrol Officer Class "D" and entry level Firefighter/Paramedic Class "D" positions. Testing and applications will be accepted from Friday April 5, 2024 to Monday, May 27, 2024. Full Testing services for both positions of Patrol Officer Class "D" and Firefighter/Paramedic Class "D" are through National Testing Network (NTN).

Zoning Inspector
Department: Building Division

Description: Under the general supervision of the Chief Building Official, the Zoning Inspector is a professional position with a high degree of independence and responsibility for assuring compliance of city zoning and property maintenance regulations. See the job description for more details. 

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with municipal zoning, construction code compliance, public administration or related field preferred. The ideal candidate would possess working knowledge of due process requirements, private property rights and evidence collection. Must have great communication skills and work well with the general public. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.

Program Supervisor
Department: Parks and Recreation
Employment Status: Full-time
Working Hours: 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Salary: $40,145-$60,306 (salary commensurate with experience)

Description: Oversees year-round recreation programs, classes, special events, and athletic programs with the purpose of improving leisure opportunities for residents of North Ridgeville. See the job description for more details.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration, physical education, sports management or closely related field. One to three years of experience working in municipal parks and recreation departments or in a business or field of expertise directly related to providing parks and recreation service delivery. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license and must remain insurable under the City’s vehicular insurance policy; obtain First Aid and CPR Certification within six (6) months of employment.

Van Driver
Department: Office for Older Adults
Employment Status: Part-time (10-15 hours/week)
Working Hours: 8 AM-4 PM (hours may vary based on need)
Pay Rate: $13.16/hourly

The Van Driver is responsible for operating a van to transport adults 60+ to medical appointments and routine shopping appointments. Some transportation assignments include taking older adults on various field trips that are longer driving distances (30-45 minutes one way). May assist with some light physical labor tasks at the center such as setting up/breaking down tables and chairs and transporting boxes to and from storage areas. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of high school education or GED. This position requires the ability to problem solve, complete routine forms, follow safety practices and procedures, and to carry out instructions. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable under the City’s insurance plan.
