Sugar Ridge Road Closure
The Public Works Department, Streets Division, will close Sugar Ridge Road from Bender Road west to the Elyria border to pave the roadway. The road will close at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30 and will reopen once the paving of the roadway is completed. This date is subject to change depending on weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access during the closure period. Detour signs will be posted.
Pavement Markings Program To Begin August 4
Griffin Pavement Striping will be repainting pavement markings throughout the city beginning Sunday, August 4, 2024. They will be working in the evenings from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. The crews will be painting the long lines (center lines and edge lines) and the handwork (e.g., turn arrows, RR crossings, school zones, etc.). The total project should be completed in two weeks, weather permitting. Please use caution as you travel throughout the city.

Corn Festival: Bainbridge Road, Parade Route and Splash Pad Closures
The 49th Corn Festival will be held August 9-11, 2024. Bainbridge Road will be closed between SR 83 and Root Road beginning Thursday, August 8 at 1:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, August 12 at 6:00 a.m. to allow ample time for set up/tear down. The Grande Parade will be held on Sunday, August 11 at 1:30 p.m. departing from the North Ridgeville High School, traveling down Ranger Way to Center Ridge Road to Root Road to Bainbridge Road ending at the High School. These roads will be closed during the time of the parade. During the festival, the Splash Pad at South Central Park will be closed starting at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9 and will reopen to our residents on Monday, August 12 at 10:00 a.m. For a complete list of Corn Festival activities, please visit their website at nrcornfest.org.
Zoning Community Survey Results
The City of North Ridgeville is working with a consultant to assess the need for changes to our existing planning and zoning ordinances. The audit will summarize the strengths and weaknesses of the existing regulations in terms of usability, organization and substantive standards, and provide recommendations for improvement. As part of this process, the city surveyed North Ridgeville residents to gather their feedback.
Legal Notice, 2024 Catch Basin Repairs
Sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the Mayor, City Hall, 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039 until 11:00 a.m. (Local Time) on July 31, 2024 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for the 2024 Catch Basin Repairs project.
Upcoming Permit Process Changes
Most construction activities in North Ridgeville require plan approval and the issuance of permits by the city. Necessary applications and review processes vary depending on the type of project. Please note that beginning June 3, there will be some changes in how the city processes residential and commercial permits. Engineering permits will now be required for certain construction activities.
Street Repairs and Paving 2024 (Revised 7-17-2024)
After careful review of the Pavement Condition Rating (PCR) report, the city has identified those streets to be repaved this year within the allocated budget. The PCR report includes condition assessments, identification of priority areas and maintenance and rehabilitation recommendations for the entire city network of streets, with the exception of interstate highways.
Northeast Ohio Regional Metroparks Trail Connectivity Study - Public Survey
Metroparks organizations for Lorain, Cuyahoga, Medina, Lake and Geauga counties are working with the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) to create a trail network that connects people throughout the region to opportunities, resources, jobs, destinations and each other.

Bagley Road Bridge Closure
The Bagley Road bridge over the Ohio Turnpike will be closed for approximately six months beginning April 29, 2024 due to construction work by the Ohio Turnpike Commission.
I-80 East Onramp at Toll Plaza 152 to Close April 17, 2024
The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission will close the onramp at Interstate 80 east at Toll Plaza 152 on April 17 to begin work on the mainline bridge above the onramp. The ramp is expected to reopen August 1.
