North Ridgeville Buildings Closed To The Public
As we continue to help ensure the safety of residents and employees during this time, the city will remain operational with modifications to the way we interact with the public.  City Hall departments and all municipal buildings are not open to the general public with the exception of Wednesday night Mayor's Court with modifications (see news item below). Please contact the department you need by phone or email.  Contact information can be found on the city's website under Contact Us 
Mayor's Court Will Remain Open
Please be advised that Mayor's Court held weekly on Wednesday evenings will remain open with the following precautionary measures in place: 
- Only defendants and/or attorneys will be admitted. 
- Only 10 individuals will be permitted in Council Chambers at a time.
To obtain a continuance of your case, please contact Mayor's Court at (440) 353-0821. Thank you for your understanding.

Deborah Drive At Jaycox Road To Close May 28, 29, 2020
Deborah Drive will be closed at Jaycox Road on May 28, 29, 2020 to perform storm pipe repairs.  Please use Leslie Avenue to access Deborah Drive during the closure.    
Safest Cities North Ridgeville Ranks in the Top 20 Safest Cities in Ohio
SafeWise released the 2020 "20 Safest Cities in Ohio" report. North Ridgeville ranked #6. To compile, this report, SafeWise used the most recent FBI crime data, along with population data to analyze and rank these cities.  To see the complete report and full list of cities, click here. 
Road Closed Emerald Street to Close at Center Ridge Road
Beginning June 2, 2020, Emerald Street will close at Center Ridge Road and reopen on June 8, 2020 (weather permitting) to construct new curbs and pavement as it relates to the Center Ridge Road widening project.  
Road Closed Ranger Way To Close May 18, 2020
The North Ridgeville Academic Center school drive will be closed at the gate starting Monday, May 18 - no through access will be available. Access to Fire Station #1 and the northern parking lot to the Academic Center will still be available from Center Ridge Road.  Access to the parking lot on the south side of the Academic Center will be available from the entrance off of Bainbridge Road across from West Point Drive.  The gate will be closed until the end of July 2020.   
Legal Notice, 2020 Full Depth Concrete Pavement Replacement
Sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the Mayor, City Hall, 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, OH  44039 until 2 PM on June 8, 2020 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter in a designated location at City Hall for the 2020 Full Depth Concrete Pavement Replacement project.

Sanitary Sewer Broad, Main, Pleasant Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation
The contractor will begin cleaning the sanitary sewers on Broad, Main and Pleasant the week of May 11, 2020.

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to ordinance and the authority granted by the Charter of the City of North Ridgeville, offers to purchase real property will be received at the Office of the Mayor of the City of North Ridgeville, until 12 PM on June 1, 2020. 
Road Closures Center Ridge Road Reconstruction Project Update - Road Closures
In order to keep the project moving forward and on schedule, Fechko Excavating will be closing Jaycox Road between Center Ridge Road and 300' north and Forest Wood Drive beginning May 14, 2020 for up to 30 days.  Detour signs will be posted utilizing Mildred Street and Ridgeview Blvd.  Streets previously closed - Ridge Plaza, Ridgeview, Cornell and Old Lear Nagle are on schedule to reopen by May 14, 2020.

Census 2020 Census Update: Respond to Shape the Future
Each Wednesday, the City receives an update on the responses to the 2020 Census and as of May 27, 2020, North Ridgeville remains in the lead among Lorain County cities and villages.  
Virtual Meetings - City Council and Committee Meetings
Due to current restrictions associated with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), future Council and committee meetings will not be in person and will be virtual meetings until further notice.  We still want to hear from you!   The meetings will be streamed on our YouTube channel with the use of live chat feature to submit comments and questions during the meeting.

Railroad Crossing Norfolk Southern To Make Repairs At Crossings (REVISED 5-27-2020)
Norfolk Southern will be replacing rail in several crossings in Elyria and North Ridgeville causing closures.  The closures are only scheduled to last 2-3 hours for phase one; however, time estimates are subject to change.  Detours will be posted.  3-31-2020 Important Update:  During this repair work, the Quiet Zone will not be operational and you may hear train horns.   
Wipes Proper Disposal of Wipes and Other Non-Flushables
As our community takes extra precautions necessary to protect our health and slow the spread of COVID-19, be mindful of where you dispose your cleaning products.  Please do NOT put disposable wipes in the toilet as they are not flushable - even if packaging says they are.  
Coronavirus Coronavirus - Closures and Cancellations
We are currently experiencing uncertain times and we have an obligation to protect our most vulnerable citizens.  As such, following the directive of Governor Mike DeWine and in an attempt to limit exposure to COVID-19, we are forced to make difficult decisions to cancel some of our events and programs and close several facilities. 
Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) Announces Filing Extension to July 15, 2020
RITA announced municipal income fax filings and payments for tax year 2019 with a due date of April 15, 2020 have been extended to July 15, 2020.

Replacement of Mills Road Bridge Over French Creek, Spring 2021
The City of North Ridgeville obtained a grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Municipal Bridge Program to provide federal funding for a major portion of the costs to replace the Mills Road bridge over French Creek.  The project is in the preliminary design stage, and construction is estimated to begin in Spring of 2021.
