Railroad Crossing Closures Norfolk Southern To Perform Work on Railroad Crossings (Updated 7-26-2021)
Norfolk Southern Railroad will be performing railroad maintenance activities at each of the railroad crossings starting at Chestnut Ridge Road and heading west to Root Road, Maddock Road and Race Road beginning the week of July 19, 2021 (schedule is subject to change without notice).  Each crossing may be closed for 24-48 hours to perform the necessary work. 
 
Mills Road Bridge Mills Road Bridge Replacement Project - Construction Notice
Construction will begin on the Mills Road Bridge Replacement Project on Monday, July 26, 2021 with completion date around mid-October 2021.  
 
No Train Horn Chestnut Ridge Road and Root Road - Railroad Crossings
Norfolk Southern recently performed work at each of the railroad crossings at Chestnut Ridge Road and Root Road. In doing so, the "no train horn" system is malfunctioning. Until Norfolk Southern completes their work in the area, you may hear train horns. No estimated time for repairs.

Fresh Produce Pick-Ups North Ridgeville Heart & Sole Produce Grab n' Go Bags
North Ridgeville Heart & Sole is supporting local farmers by offering $10 produce Grab n' Go bags in August and September 2021. 
 
Columbia Gas Columbia Gas Conducting GPS Surveying Work
Columbia Gas will be conducting GPS surveying work in a small section of North Ridgeville throughout the month of July 2021.  
 
Ohio Turnpike Ohio Turnpike Bridge Painting Project To Begin July 5, 2021
Ohio Turnpike will begin painting the turnpike bridge over US 20, Center Ridge Road near the western corporation limit on July 5, 2021, weather permitting. The duration of the work should be less than 30 days.  One lane traffic will be maintained with the use of portable traffic lights. 
 
Street Repairs Street Repairs and Paving Schedule 2021 (Updated 7-15-2021)
After careful review of the master plan report for Pavement Condition Rating (PCR), the City has identified the streets that will be paved/repaired this year within the city's allocated budget.

COVID-19 health orders Health Orders Rescinded As of June 2, 2021
The COVID-19 health orders, except some orders for safety in congregate living and health settings, are rescinded as of June 2, 2021. Effective June 2, all city-owned properties will no longer require masks and all City Council and Boards and Commission meetings will resume in person and open to the public.  All of these meetings will continue to be available for viewing on the City’s YouTube channel.
 
Longbow/Crossbow Deer Hunting Land Registration Underway for 2021-2022
For those wishing to register their land for the 2021-2022 longbow/crossbow deer hunting season in the city of North Ridgeville (starting September 25, 2021 and ending February 6, 2022) you will need to either visit the lobby of the police station or download the forms from the Police Department webpage. Upon completion of the required form (single landowner or multiple landowners), please drop it off in the lobby of the Police Department, 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039, or email it to [email protected].

Chestnut Ridge Road Roundabout Chestnut Ridge Road and Alternate State Route 83 Roundabout - Road Closure
Chagrin Valley Paving, Inc. will begin installing a three legged roundabout at the intersection of Chestnut Ridge Road and Alt. SR 83 beginning the week of April 12, 2021. In order to facilitate the work as efficiently as possible, a road closure will be in place at the intersection for approximately 90 days beginning Monday, April 26, 2021.
 
Lorain Road Water Main Project
The City has contracted with IBI Group to design a new water main along Lorain Road from Bliss Parkway to Lear Nagle Road. KS Associates will be performing survey work for the design beginning the week of April 5, 2021.
 
Dialing Phone Numbers Changes Are Coming to the 440 Area Code With Ten Digit Dialing
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted 988 as a new three-digit number to be used nationwide to reach the National Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Lifeline starting July 16, 2022. In order for 988 to work in certain area codes, including the 440 area code, 10-digit local dialing must be implemented.

Lorain County Public Health (LCPH)  implemented convenient ways to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine - online with phone or computer, by way of the ArmorVax app, or by calling "211" and ask for an appointment. Visit the LCPH website at https://www.loraincountyhealth.com/signup to learn more. 
 
Sanitary Center Ridge Road Sanitary Sewer Extension Project
The City will be extending the sanitary sewer along Center Ridge Road from Barton Road east to the city limits for approximately 3,200 feet.

Temporarily Closed Due to COVID-19 Senior Center Will Remain Closed Until Further Notice
On November 9, 2020 we made the decision to reopen the Senior Center for planned activities only with safeguards in place.  With the coronavirus numbers continuing to rise, we have an obligation to protect our most vulnerable citizens.  After consulting with Lorain County Public Health, we have once again made the decision to cancel all activities and close the center until further notice.
