City Offices Transition to New Phone Numbers
The City of North Ridgeville has upgraded its phone system and transitioned to a new vendor. With this change and the opening of the new police station on March 18, all city phone numbers are changing, with the exception of the French Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This change will be effective March 18 at 5:00 a.m.
New Police Station Opens March 18, 2024
The new North Ridgeville Police Station will be fully operational on Monday, March 18. All personnel will be relocated from the station attached to City Hall to the newly constructed facility at 7070 Ranger Way.
Abandoned Gas Station Program Update - Lane Closures
BJAAM personnel will be conducting environmental studies between March 18 and March 22 at the southwest corner of the intersection of Center Ridge Road and Avon Belden Road (SR 83) resulting in lane closures.
Primary Election Day, March 19, 2024
Election Day is Tuesday, March 19. In addition to the primary election, two local levy renewals will appear on the ballot for consideration by North Ridgeville voters, one for our paramedic service and one for the North Ridgeville Branch Library. Ambulance and EMS Levy Renewal
Issue 7, a proposed 2.25 mill levy renewal, is on the March 19 ballot, which will provide funds for staffing and equipment needed to operate the City’s paramedic service. Because the levy is a renewal, it will not result in any additional taxes to property owners.
North Ridgeville Branch Library Levy Renewal
On March 19, voters will be asked to consider Issue #8, a 1.91 mill renewal levy which will provide operating revenues for the North Ridgeville Branch Library. Operating revenues are used for building maintenance and renovation, maintaining and growing the collection of books and other loaned items, program supplies, technology, staffing and more. SR 83 and Bainbridge Road Traffic Study
This month the City of North Ridgeville will kick off a study to review existing traffic conditions and evaluate potential improvements to the Avon Belden Road – Bainbridge Road intersection and surrounding area.
Active Transportation Plan Connectivity Survey
The City of North Ridgeville, in partnership with the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), is embarking on a public engagement process to gather community input for a citywide Active Transportation Plan.
Spring Cemetery Clean-Up
In an attempt to beautify our cemeteries, the North Ridgeville Cemetery Department asks your help in clearing all plastic and artificial flowers and any other winter holiday weathered decorations by Sunday, March 24, 2024. We respectfully ask residents to remove these items by this date.
Solar Eclipse, April 8, 2024
On Monday, April 8, people within a 124-mile-wide band in the State of Ohio will experience a total solar eclipse. Be prepared!
Hydrant Replacement Project to Begin in April
The 2024 Hydrant Replacement Project was awarded to Diggers of Ohio, LLC for $385,256.81. The project includes the replacement of 35 existing fire hydrants with work expected to begin in April 2024.
Backflow Prevention Device Tests Due June 15
Backflow prevention devices prevent contaminated water from entering the city’s clean water supply. Businesses and residents with lawn sprinkler systems and/or other systems requiring backflow devices are reminded to submit their backflow device tests to the Engineering Division by June 15. Lorain County Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program
The City of North Ridgeville is partnering with Lorain County to offer home repair and rehabilitation programs to income-eligible homeowners by way of the Lorain County Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program. This program is funded by the Ohio Department of Development.
TC Energy and Columbia Gas Pipeline Project
