Martin Luther King Jr. Day City Hall Offices Closed, January 18, 2021
City Hall Offices will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2021 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. 
 
Ohio Edison Helicopter Ohio Edison To Conduct Line Inspections
Beginning January 18, 2021, weather permitting, Haverfield will be mobilizing two inspection crews to the Ohio Edison region and will begin performing comprehensive visual inspections (CVIs) on all Ohio Edison 345kV lines, and then on select 138kV lines at a later date.  
 
Ohio's Vaccination Program COVID-19 Update: Vaccine Distribution & Weekly Update
Governor DeWine announced details for the first phase of vaccine distribution anticipated to begin around December 15, 2020. Vaccine supply will be limited, and Ohio will focus on vaccinating those who fall under Critical Phase 1A Groups.

Stormwater Utility Base Rate Annual Adjustment, Effective January 1, 2021
Effective January 1, 2021, the Stormwater Utility (SWU) Fee for all property owners will increase by 2.1%. Per Codified Ordinance 1058.07, the SWU base rate will be adjusted annually by the Engineering News Record Construction Cost Index Annual Inflation Rate. The supporting information is attached. The 2021 base rate for one equivalent residential unit will increase from $3.95 to $4.03 per month. 
Lorain County Public Health: Don't Hibernate
Lorain County Public Health released a list of places to physically and mentally recharge in Lorain County.  North Ridgeville's South Central Park and Shady Drive Complex made the list!
 
Fire Hydrant Fire Hydrant Replacement Project To Begin December 2020
CATTS Construction will be replacing 64 fire hydrants in various locations throughout the city beginning in December 2020 and continuing through June 2021.
 
Temporarily Closed Due to COVID-19 Senior Center Will Remain Closed Until Further Notice
On November 9, 2020 we made the decision to reopen the Senior Center for planned activities only with safeguards in place.  With the coronavirus numbers continuing to rise, we have an obligation to protect our most vulnerable citizens.  After consulting with Lorain County Public Health, we have once again made the decision to cancel all activities and close the center until further notice.

Mayor's Court Precautionary Measures
Please be advised that Mayor's Court held weekly on Wednesday evenings has the following precautionary measures in place: 
- Only defendants and/or attorneys will be admitted. 
- Only 10 individuals will be permitted in Council Chambers at a time.

Replacement of Mills Road Bridge Over French Creek, Spring 2021
The City of North Ridgeville obtained a grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Municipal Bridge Program to provide federal funding for a major portion of the costs to replace the Mills Road bridge over French Creek.  The project is in the preliminary design stage, and construction is estimated to begin in Spring of 2021.
