Thank you for your service Thanking Our Veterans
To commemorate Veterans Day, the Senior Center is partnering with the North Ridgeville Branch Library to write thank you cards to our local veterans. Starting Tuesday, October 19, 2021, cards will be available at the front desk of the Senior Center for anyone who wishes to write a special message to a veteran. All cards need to be completed and returned to the Senior Center by November 9, 2021. The cards will be delivered  to the North Ridgeville VFW for distribution.

Road Temporarily Closed Bainbridge Road Between SR 83 and Mitchell Drive, Temporary Road Closure
Bainbridge Road will be temporarily closed between SR 83 and Mitchell Drive on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 8 AM until 10:30 AM for the annual Parks & Recreation Department Stache Dash. The street will re-open immediately following the conclusion of the race. 
 
Columbia Gas of Ohio Columbia Gas of Ohio Announces Energy Assistance Availability
Columbia Gas of Ohio announced multiple energy assistance programs, flexible billing programs and payment plans are available to help customers who may be struggling financially.
 
Street Repairs Street Repairs and Paving Schedule 2021 (Updated 10-19-2021)
After careful review of the master plan report for Pavement Condition Rating (PCR), the City has identified the streets that will be paved/repaired this year within the city's allocated budget.

Columbia Gas published their quarterly community update to include information on bill assistance, no-cost energy efficiency, fall safety messages and fighting hunger across Ohio. 
 
spaghetti dinner Senior Center Spaghetti Dinner, October 29, 2021
The Senior Center will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner from 5-7 PM on October 29, 2021 sponsored by the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871. Enjoy our famous meal of spaghetti, sauce and meatballs, garlic bread and salad. Adults $7.00, Seniors $6.00 and Children 10 and under $4.00; dessert $1.00, pop $.50 extra and carry out is available. Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning on October 1, 2021 at the Senior Center reception desk.  
 
COVID/Flu Clinic Free COVID/Flu Vaccination Clinic, November 15, 2021
Lorain County Public Health will be sponsoring a Free COVID/Flu Drive-Thru Vaccination Clinic on November 15, 2021 from 1 PM until 4 PM at the North Ridgeville Fire Department, Fire Station #1, 7000 Ranger Way.  If you have any questions, please contact the Lorain County Public Health at (440) 322-6367. 
 
CPR Fire Department Offers CPR Classes
The North Ridgeville Fire Department is offering the Family & Friends CPR course and the CPR/Basic Life Support Certification class. 
 
Fall Leaf Pick-Up Special Leaf Collection, October 26-November 23, 2021
Leaves may be placed at the curb in plastic bags beginning October 26 through November 23, 2021 on regular trash pick-up day.  After November 23, leaves in plastic bags can only be left out as extra trash during bulk pick-up week each month.  From April through October each year, yard waste must be placed in brown yard waste bags for weekly collection.  Please call the Utilities Department at (440)-353-0841 with any questions.
 
Trick or Treat Citywide Trick-Or-Treat, October 31, 2021
North Ridgeville will be observing citywide Trick-or-Treat on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 6:00-7:30 PM. If you plan to participate in passing out candy, please turn your street/porch light on.  As a reminder, please drive carefully throughout the city to ensure the safety of our children.  
 
Mills Road Bridge Mills Road Bridge Replacement Project - Construction Notice (Updated 8-18-2021)
Construction will begin on the Mills Road Bridge Replacement Project on Monday, July 26, 2021 with completion date around the first week in December 2021.  
 
No Train Horn Chestnut Ridge Road and Root Road - Railroad Crossings
Norfolk Southern recently performed work at each of the railroad crossings at Chestnut Ridge Road and Root Road. In doing so, the "no train horn" system is malfunctioning. Until Norfolk Southern completes their work in the area, you may hear train horns. No estimated time for repairs.
 
Longbow/Crossbow Deer Hunting Land Registration Underway for 2021-2022
For those wishing to register their land for the 2021-2022 longbow/crossbow deer hunting season in the city of North Ridgeville (starting September 25, 2021 and ending February 6, 2022) you will need to either visit the lobby of the police station or download the forms from the Police Department webpage. Upon completion of the required form (single landowner or multiple landowners), please drop it off in the lobby of the Police Department, 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039, or email it to [email protected].
 
Dialing Phone Numbers Changes Are Coming to the 440 Area Code With Ten Digit Dialing
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted 988 as a new three-digit number to be used nationwide to reach the National Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Lifeline starting July 16, 2022. In order for 988 to work in certain area codes, including the 440 area code, 10-digit local dialing must be implemented.

Lorain County Public Health (LCPH)  implemented convenient ways to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine - online with phone or computer, by way of the ArmorVax app, or by calling "211" and ask for an appointment. Visit the LCPH website at https://www.loraincountyhealth.com/coronavirus to learn more.  
Sanitary Center Ridge Road Sanitary Sewer Extension Project
The City will be extending the sanitary sewer along Center Ridge Road from Barton Road east to the city limits for approximately 3,200 feet.
