Sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the Mayor, 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039 until 11 AM on June 23, 2023 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for the 2023 Full Depth Concrete Replacement Project. 

Stoney Ridge Road will close just north of Mills Road for approximately two weeks beginning June 6, 2023 to conduct utility work in preparation for the construction of a peanut-shape roundabout at the intersection of Stoney Ridge Road, Mills Road and Avalon Drive. Mills Road westbound lane near the intersection of Stoney Ridge Road will be closed, two-way traffic will be maintained using a temporary signal. 

North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Bureau will be sponsoring their annual citywide Garage Sale Days on June 7-10, 2023. The cost to participate is $5. Registration was held as a drive-thru at North Ridgeville Community Care (behind Arby's) on Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2 from 9 AM until 3 PM. The City of North Ridgeville is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to provide construction administration and inspection services for the upcoming Stoney Ridge Road-Mills Road-Avalon Drive Roundabout construction project. The project will also include sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, lighting, landscaping, traffic control and other necessary appurtenances. Responses are due June 23, 2023 at 12:00 PM.

Public notice is hereby given by the Civil Service Commission of an open competitive examination for the positions of Police Patrol Officer Class "D" and Firefighter/Paramedic Class "C." 

After careful review of the master plan report for Pavement Condition Rating (PCR), the City identified the streets to be paved/repaired this year within the allocated budget.

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission will be replacing the bridge deck over the Ohio Turnpike on Race Road. Race Road will be closed beginning May 15, 2023 at 7 AM for 120 days to perform the work. Race Road will be open to local traffic and businesses but the bridge will be closed. Detour signs will be posted to assist drivers around the work area. 

Bring your sensitive documents such as tax forms and medical records to be shredded onsite in the North Ridgeville Branch Library parking lot on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 9 AM until noon. Each household may bring up to five standard-size copier paper boxes or five grocery-size bags of documents. Staples are fine, but no paper clips, binder clips, binders, spiral-bound notebooks, other metal objects, batteries, or electronics. This free event is provided by the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District. The event may end early if the truck is full.

The Freedom Festival and Fireworks will be held at Victory Park Ohio, 7777 Victory Lane, North Ridgeville on Monday, July 3, 2023. Gates open at 4 PM with activities, entertainment, food and beverages, and fireworks at approximately 10 PM. Tickets are per vehicle and can be purchased online beginning May 1, 2023 by visiting www.victoryparkohio.com. 

The Ohio Department of Transportation has contracted Karvo to resurface Center Ridge Road from Elyria to Westlake, with the exception of the 2.1-mile section of Center Ridge Road that was recently widened. Weather permitting, Karvo will begin milling at the west end of the project and work to the east beginning April 26, 2023. A second crew will follow to complete pavement repairs and place the surface course within 14 days to cover the milled surface. The entire project should be completed by the end of July 2023 (weather permitting). Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

On March 30, 2023, the North Ridgeville Fire Chief issued an Order of Closure for Old Town Hall located at 36119 Center Ridge Road. Effective immediately, the building is closed and no access will be granted to members of the public.

The North Ridgeville Police Department in partnership with Hyundai has free steering wheel locks for residents that own or lease a Hyundai vehicle produced prior to November 2021 with proof of ownership.
