Mildred Street Reconstruction and Extension Project Update (Revised 10-8-2019)

Beginning Thursday, October 10, 2019 Fabrizi Trucking and Paving will be pouring concrete for the remainder of the Ridgeview Boulevard at Mildred Street intersection. For this to occur, Ridgeview Boulevard will need to be closed at Mildred Street on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 7:00 AM and re-open on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 7:00 AM. During this 4-day period, please use the posted detour. After 7:00 AM on Monday, October 14, 2019, Ridgeview Boulevard will re-open to 2-way traffic indefinitely. All work is scheduled weather permitting.

On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 Fabrizi Trucking and Paving will be pouring the remainder of Mildred Street, from Eastview Boulevard to Rosebelle Avenue. For this to occur, the contractor will be utilizing a paving machine that will pass through the intersection of Mildred Street and Ridgeview Boulevard from approximately 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. During this time period, Ridgeview Boulevard at Mildred Street may be closed for a period of 1 hour up to 2 hours. For this short period, please use the posted detour. After 12:00 PM, Ridgeview Boulevard will reopen and remain a one-lane roadway for approximately two (2) weeks. Please use caution when utilizing this route. All work is scheduled weather permitting.

As of  September 9, the installation of utilities is 100% complete.  The contractors are currently preparing the subgrade and base for the new roadway. During testing of the subgrade and base, soils were found to be soft and remediation is necessary.  The subgrade will need to be stabilized before the roadway can be poured. This will delay paving operations for roughly two weeks.

As of  August 27, 2019, Fabrizi Trucking and Paving, Inc., will continue to prepare the subgrade and base for the new roadway on Mildred Street. The intersections at Eastview Avenue, Albert Street and Lee Avenue will remain closed until the new concrete pavement is poured and cured.  To try and minimize the impact to residents, Ridgeview Blvd. will remain open to two-way traffic at this time. Further notice will be given for the construction of the Ridgeview Blvd. intersection. When the project is completed, this will provide continuous access from Avon Belden Road to Jaycox Road.

The northbound detour for this area from Ridgeview Blvd. will be west on Helen Street to Rosebelle Avenue, then north on Rosebelle Avenue to Drake Street, then east on Drake Street to Jaycox Road, then south back to Mildred Street. The southbound detour will be the reverse. Eastview Avenue residents south of Mildred Street will head south to Helen Street then follow the proposed detour northbound. Eastview Avenue residents north of Mildred Street will head north to Drake Street then follow the posted detour.

A copy of the proposed detour map and legend can be found below.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we continue to work on completing this important project.
