Martin DeVries
MARTIN E. DEVRIES:  President/At -Large Council member.  His term will expire December 31, 2021.  Martin is a longtime resident of North Ridgeville and is married to his wife, Stephanie, and they have three daughters. He is currently a Regional Manager at First Federal Lakewood and has over twenty-three years of banking experience working with small business owners. He graduated from North Ridgeville High School in 1990 and attended Heidelberg University. In 2012, he was inducted into the North Ridgeville Alumni Hall of Fame. Martin is a member of the North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce and former First Vice Chair and was recently awarded the Bright Star Award for Chamber member of the Year. He served on the Board of Zoning and Appeals for the City of North Ridgeville for the last four years as well as the North Ridgeville Charter Review Committee. He is on the Board of Directors for the following  organizations: West Side Business Network, West Side Synergy, and Northern Ohio Easter Seals. He is proud to serve the community he calls home.

Michelle Hung

MICHELLE HUNG:  At-Large Council member.  Her term will expire December 31, 2021.  Mrs. Hung is currently Chair to the Administrative Committee and is a member of the Safety and the Utilities Committee.  Mrs. Hung previously served as Chair to the Administrative Committee, a member of the Building and Lands Committee, Streets, Sidewalks and Bridges Committee, alternate liaison to the Planning Commission and Council liaison to the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals.  Mrs. Hung is married to Jeff of fifteen years and has an eleven year old daughter, Karina.  Mrs. Hung is also a member of the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce, the North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce, the North Ridgeville Rotary Club, the Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge A28, a member of St. Peter's Parish and a proud sponsor of the North Ridgeville Hotstove Baseball League team "Rangers".  In her spare time, she enjoys baking and volunteering for various local events.

James Maleski
JAMES R. MALESKI:  At-Large Council member.  Mr. Maleski was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Kevin Corcoran's election to Mayor.  His term will expire December 31, 2021.  I am 41 years old and have lived in North Ridgeville for 14 years.  My wife and I have been married for 15 years.  We have two daughters, Madison and Makinley.  Both of my children are in the North Ridgeville City Schools.  I am a 7th grade World History teacher in the Huron City Schools.  I am currently in my 17th year of teaching.  I have taught special education in the Cleveland City School district prior to Huron.  Over the past 20 years, I have coached high school, junior high and recreational sports including football, track, and basketball.  My education background includes a Bachelor's Degree from Cleveland State University, a Master's Degree in Special Education from Ashland University, and I am currently one class away from a Masters Degree in United States History from the University of Nebraska Kearney.  I was recently a member of the North Ridgeville Planning Commission starting in January of 2017.

Holly Swenk
HOLLY A. SWENK:  Elected Ward 1 Council member. Her term will expire December 31, 2023.  Holly was appointed to Chair of the Safety Committee, member of Buildings & Lands Committee, Streets, Sidewalks & Bridges Committee, Multi-Purpose Room Board of Trustees, and Council Alternate Liaison to Planning Commission. Holly is married to Christopher and they have four children and two grandsons.  Holly and Christopher are very involved in the St. Peter's Church Cub Scout Pack 153 where Christopher serves as the Cub Master.  Holly is a North Ridgeville High School graduate of the class of 1997 and works as a Mortgage Loan Processor for a company located in North Ridgeville.

DENNIS J. BOOSE:  Elected Ward 2 Council member. His term will expire December 31, 2023. Mr. Boose is serving his sixth consecutive term on Council and previously served as a Council member At-Large from October 1998 to December 1999. He currently serves as the Chairperson to the Utilities Committee and is a member of the Streets, Sidewalks and Bridges Committee and Finance Committee and Board of Drainage and Flood Control. He was also appointed to serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission as the Council Liaison.  Mr. Boose previously served as Chair to the Finance Committee and Safety Committee and was a member of the Administrative, Streets, Sidewalks & Bridges, Finance and Safety Committees. He previously served on the Board of Drainage and Flood Control Board, Tax Abatement Review Board, Senior Citizens Advisory Board and was a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City's Master Plan Committee. Mr. Boose is married to Lisa and has two children.

BRUCE F. ABENS: Elected Ward 3 Council member. His term will expire December 31, 2023.  Mr. Abens was recently appointed Council Liaison to Planning Commission, Building & Lands Committee member, Tax Abatement Review Board member, Senior Citizens Advisory Board member, and Chairman of the Finance Committee and Safety Committee member; and, appointed President/Pro-Tem for a second term.  Mr. Abens was Chairman on the Administrative Committee, Building & Lands Committee, and Council Liaison for the Parks and Recreation Commission. He retired from the modular construction industry from a locally based company, Sommer’s Mobile Leasing, Inc. He is a former Vice President for the Braemore Homeowners Association.  Mr. Abens was previously employed by the City of Cleveland Human Resource and Economic Development Department administering a federal jobs program.  Mr. Abens is also an active Boy Scout of America leader. He has been married for 47 years and has 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 6 grandchildren.

Clifford Winkel
CLIFFORD WINKEL: Elected Ward 4 Council member.  His term will expire December 31, 2023. Mr. Winkel was appointed to the Administrative Committee, Chair of Building & Lands Committee, member of the Utilities Committee and Council Liaison to the Board of Zoning & Building Appeals. Mr. Winkel has lived in North Ridgeville Ward 4 for 19 years.  He is married to Kathy and has three children.  He is currently the owner/operator of Wink Electric Inc., a North Ridgeville based company.  He holds various electrical and fire alarm licenses with the State of Ohio.  For the last 18 years, he has volunteered his time coaching the youth of our community.
