Invitation to North Ridgeville Fire Station Headquarters Groundbreaking Ceremony, January 10, 2018
You are cordially invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new fire station headquarters on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will be held at 7000 Ranger Way (across from Jaycox Road, south of Center Ridge Road).  Coffee and donuts to follow at Fire Station #1, 7090 Avon Belden Road.   
Unauthorized Credit/Debit Card Payments to Lorain Utility Department
Updated 12-13-2017: The North Ridgeville Utilities Department would like to thank all of our customers for their patience and understanding while we investigated the unfortunate coding error that created so much confusion for so many.  This unfortunate incident set off a chain reaction of incorrect payee charges for a number of North Ridgeville utility customer payments, appearing to be paid to the “City of Lorain.”  This coding error was NOT made by the City of North Ridgeville or by the City of Lorain but instead by the bank payment processor, First Data.  
City Employees Donate $820 to Community Care
North Ridgeville city employees were provided the opportunity to participate in "casual Fridays" by making a monetary donation when wearing casual clothing to work on Fridays. Donations collected throughout the year were donated to North Ridgeville Community Care. On December 11, 2017, Mayor G. David Gillock and Safety Service Director Jeffry Armbruster presented to June Yost, North Ridgeville Community Care, a cash donation of $820. In addition to the monetary donation, many of the employees participated in the Adopt-A-Child program as well as donated toys, gift and food items to the center. 
City Hall Offices Closed, December 22, 25, 2017
City Hall will be closed on Friday, December 22 and Monday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Happy Holidays!

Drive-thru holiday lights show returns to Victory Park Ohio featuring brand new displays and an improved roadway for 2017.    
State of the City Address, January 18, 2018
Join Mayor David Gillock at the State of the City Address as he recaps 2017 events and forecasts 2018. The event will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the North Ridgeville High School from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM.  The event is sponsored by the North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce.  Please call (440) 327-3737 to register for the event (seats are limited.)  Cost is $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members including a catered lunch by Tom's Country Place.
Good News for Utility Customers: Two-Month Rate Holiday for Trash Collection
Due to the excess balance of funds that are above what is needed for continued operations in the solid waste account, it is the desire of the Administration and City Council to return any excess cash balance to our customers, in the form of a rate holiday.  In accordance with city ordinance #5479-2017, it has been hereby declared that a rate holiday shall be granted for November and December 2017, where no user charges are to be billed by the City to its residential customers for the monthly trash collection fee, during the last two months of 2017.  
First Energy's Ohio Utilities Remind Customers Assistance Programs are Available
First Energy's Ohio utilities remind customers having difficulty paying their utility bills that they may be eligible for special financial assistance programs.  
Columbia Gas Surveying Properties
Columbia Gas will be surveying the main gas line along streets and service line on properties up to the meter.  They will be using light surveying and measuring equipment to conduct their work.  You may see Columbia Gas vehicles, employees and contractors on your property during this process.  Columbia Gas expects to complete their work in our area by the end of 2017.  Feel free to ask for identification from Columbia Gas or one of their contractors: Reconn, Utiliquest LLC, and Woolpert.  If you have any questions, contact Columbia Gas Customer Service at 1-800-344-4077.

Registration forms are available in the lobby of the police station or you can visit the Police Department's webpage to download the necessary forms.  
North Ridgeville Ranks in the Top 20 Safest Cities in Ohio
SafeWise released the 2017 "20 Safest Cities in Ohio" report. North Ridgeville ranked #11.  To compile, this report, SafeWise used the most recent FBI crime data from 2015, along with population data to analyze and rank these cities.
