Temporary Lane Closure, Center Ridge Road, May 6-20
Columbia Gas is relocating a gas line on Center Ridge Road which will require a temporary lane closure eastbound on Center Ridge Road from Lear Nagle Road to Main Avenue.  The work and closure will take place Monday through Friday during regular business hours from May 6 through May 20.  Traffic will be rerouted to the center lane during the temporary closure. 
Nagel Road Closed in Avon from Mills to Via San Angelo
Beginning May 3, 2016 at 8:45 AM, the City of Avon will be conducting repair work to a waterline on Nagel Road.  Nagel Road, north of Mills to Via San Angelo, will be closed for up to two days as the City of Avon makes the necessary repairs.

Legal Notice, Jaycox Road Reconstruction Phase 2
Sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the Mayor until 11:00 AM on May 11, 2016 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for: Jaycox Road Reconstruction Phase 2. 
Lorain Road/I-480 Ramp Closures
ODOT will be performing work on the Lorain Road ramps, eastbound off and eastbound on ramps to I-480, May 12 and 13.  The I-480 eastbound off ramp to Lorain Road will be closed Thursday, May 12 from 7AM-5PM and the Lorain Road eastbound on ramp to I-480 will be closed Friday, May 13 from 7AM-5PM.  These closures are subject to change based on weather conditions. 
UPDATED 5/3/2016: Road Closures - Chestnut Ridge Road and Maddock Road
The City was notified by RoadSafe Rail & Utilities that repairs will be made to the railroad crossings on Chestnut Ridge Road and Maddock Road that will require closing the roads at the railroad crossings. Please note: the dates of closures changed from the original communication. 
Trash Pick-Up Delayed One Day
In observation of Memorial Day, Allied Waste Services will delay trash pick-up by one day. Trash collection will occur Tuesday, May 31 (Monday customers) and Wednesday, June 1 (Tuesday customers) during that week. 
Legal Notices, French Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the Mayor until 10:00 AM on May 12, 2016 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for Polymer and Ferrous Chloride. 
North Ridgeville Community Garden 2016 Season
Applications are now being accepted to participate in the 2016 growing season for the North Ridgeville Community Garden located along Chestnut Ridge Road.  Deadline to submit application/payment is May 15. 
Fishing Derby, May 7
NR Parks and Recreation will be hosting the annual fishing derby on Saturday, May 7 from 8 AM-noon at South Central Park.   
Discover the Ridge Adventure Trail, Sponsored by North Ridgeville Visitors Bureau
North Ridgeville Visitors Bureau will be hosting the annual Discover the Ridge on Saturday, May 21 from 9 AM-3 PM.  A family-friendly market and open house event throughout the city.   
Touch-A-Truck, June 4
North Ridgeville Parks & Recreation Department will be sponsoring Touch-A-Truck on Saturday, June 4 from 10 AM-noon at the North Ridgeville High School parking lot.  Get up close and personal with all kinds of big trucks! This unique event encourages children (and adults) to touch vehicles, ask questions and even climb inside to take in the view from the driver's seat.  The event is FREE and appropriate for all ages.  
Citywide Garage Sale Days
Are you planning a garage sale or to sell a vehicle?  Find out more information on how to obtain a permit. The North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the annual citywide Garage Sale Days from June 15-18, 2016. 
Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks, July 2
Enjoy a fun-filled event as North Ridgeville celebrates Independence Day on Saturday, July 2 at South Central Park. Join us for games, face painting and live music.  The event will be held from 7-9:30 PM and a spectacular fireworks show will follow at dark. The event is FREE to the general public.  Rain date: July 3 (fireworks only). 
Lear Nagle Road Speed Limit Change to 25 MPH
Effective March 22, Lear Nagle Road between Lorain Road and Center Ridge Road will be reduced to a 25 MPH zone.  The speed limit change will remain in effect until the Lear Nagle Road widening project is completed. The reason for the change is for the sole purpose of keeping our drivers and construction workers safe during the construction phase. 
North Ridgeville Once Again Ranks One of the Safest Cities in Ohio
North Ridgeville is one of the safest cities in Ohio according to two recently released studies by CreditMonkey and Background They scored each city based on violent and property crime data to come up with a composite score. That score factors in population size, murders, rapes, robberies, aggravated assaults, burglaries, larcenies, motor vehicle thefts and arsons. Ridgeview Blvd. Closed Southbound at Center Ridge Road
As of February 3, Ridgeview Blvd. will be closed to southbound traffic at Center Ridge Road. Please use Jaycox, Ridge Plaza or Route 83 to gain access to Center Ridge Road.  Ridgeview Blvd. northbound from Center Ridge will be maintained. 
Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission Announces Bridge Deck Replacement Project, Route 83
Project Update 2/2/16:  There will be daily lane closures beginning February 1. The south bound lane will be closed 2-8-16 with all traffic running in the single north bound lane, controlled by a traffic light. On 3-28-16 traffic will be switched to the south bound lane. Both lanes will be opened by 6-1-16.

Project Update 1/20/16: Depending on weather conditions, work will begin February 1 underneath the bridge with no impact to traffic on Route 83. Bridge deck work is slated to begin the week of February 8. One lane, two-way traffic will be maintained.

12/3/15: The Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission will be replacing the bridge deck on State Route 83 over the Ohio Turnpike. This project requires a two-phase deck replacement, with an anticipated start date of February 2016 and a completion date of June 2016. One lane, two-way traffic will be maintained at all times.
Safetyville 2016
The North Ridgeville Police Department is sponsoring its annual Safetyville Program in June 2016.  You can register for this year's program at the Kindergarten Information Night at the North Ridgeville Education Center on February 17 from 6:30-8:00 PM and at the North Ridgeville Police Department on Saturday, February 20 from 9:00 AM-Noon.  Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis at the Police Department.  
Mayor Gillock Hosts Monthly Coffee & Conversation
City of North Ridgeville is pleased to announce monthly Coffee and Conversation with Mayor David Gillock.  Stop in to enjoy a cup of coffee and casual conversation with the Mayor.  
Olive Avenue Water Main Replacement
The city has entered into a contract with Charles Akers Construction to replace the existing water mains on Olive Avenue. Work is expected to begin December 1 with a completion date of May 2016.
