REVISED 5-26-2017 Lorain Road Striping Date Change
Please be advised that at approximately 4:00 AM on Monday, May 29, 2017, University Hospitals will have contractors striping Lorain Road in front of their facility (between Speedway and the Ohio Turnpike). 
City Hall Offices Closed, May 29, 2017
City Hall Offices will be closed Monday, May 29, 2017 in observance of Memorial Day.   
Trash Pick-Up Delayed One Day
In observation of Memorial Day, Allied Waste Services will delay trash pick-up by one day. Trash collection will occur Tuesday, May 30, 2017 (Monday customers) and Wednesday, May 31, 2017 (Tuesday customers) during that week. 
Touch-A-Truck, June 3, 2017
North Ridgeville Parks & Recreation Department will be sponsoring Touch-A-Truck on Saturday, June 3 from 10 AM-noon at the North Ridgeville High School parking lot.  Get up close and personal with all kinds of big trucks! This unique event encourages children (and adults) to touch vehicles, ask questions and even climb inside to take in the view from the driver's seat.  The event is FREE and appropriate for all ages. The University Hospitals MedEvac is scheduled to appear from 11 AM-12 noon (if an emergency arises, there's a chance they may not show up for the event). 
Chestnut Ridge Road, Road Closure
Chestnut Ridge Road, from Lear Nagle Road to approximately 500 ft. west, will be closed beginning June 5, 2017 at 6 AM for 30 days weather permitting. Terrace Construction will be installing new pavement, curbs, driveways and sidewalks. Detour signs will be posted. 
Updated 5-19-2017: Republic Services Moving To One Day Trash Pick Up
Republic Services has announced they’ll be moving trash collection in their communities to one day a week to streamline their services.  All households in North Ridgeville will move to one day trash collection on Tuesdays of each week (eliminating Monday services in North Ridgeville) effective the week of June 12, 2017. Bulk trash collection will remain the same and continue to be the first full week of each month. Republic Services will be notifying customers of this change.   
Citywide Garage Sale Days, June 14-17, 2017
North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Bureau will be sponsoring the annual citywide Garage Sale Days from June 14-17, 2017. 
Street Paving 2017 (Including Schedule)
This year the City will see appoximately $1.2 million in street paving.  As the Service Department moves through the list of streets to be paved, you'll find the latest news on our website. 
North Ridgeville Ranks in the Top 20 Safest Cities in Ohio
SafeWise released the 2017 "20 Safest Cities in Ohio" report. North Ridgeville ranked #11.  To compile, this report, SafeWise used the most recent FBI crime data from 2015, along with population data to analyze and rank these cities.

Child Safety Seat Installations/Checks
The North Ridgeville Fire Department offers FREE car seat installations and checks. An appointment is required to ensure one of the Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians are on duty to assist.  For more information, click here. 
Hydrant Flushing Throughout the City
Fire Hydrant flushing is underway throughout the city and will continue daily through the end of summer.  A slight discoloration of water is normal. Please run water until clear. 
Movies In The Park 2017
North Ridgeville Parks & Recreation will be hosting free Movies in the Park this summer.  Bring your chair, have a picnic dinner, catch up with your neighbors and enjoy the weekly free movie series at South Central Park.  
Healthy Strides...Come Walk With Us!
Healthy Strides...Come Walk With Us! combines a casual 30-minute walk, preceded by a brief informative talk by local health professionals and city officials. The program will run for 13 consecutive Thursdays, with a guest speaker every other week beginning June 8, 2017. 
North Ridgeville Star Spangled Celebration, July 3, 2017
Enjoy a fun-filled family event as we celebrate our Independence on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 7-9:30 PM at South Central Park. Join us for bounce houses, face painting, food vendors and live music. A spectacular fireworks show will follow at dark.

Get your blood drawn by a public health nurse in May or June to learn how your cholesterol, sugar and other health numbers are doing.  Adult health services are for all Lorain County adults age 55+. 
Lorain County General Health District Announces Vaccine Clinics
The Lorain County General Health District now offers an additional location where families and individuals can get the vaccines they need.  Every third Wednesday of the month, public health nurses will visit the Avon VFW, 36950 Mills Road, between 9:30-11:30 AM and 1-3 PM.  Please call (440) 284-3206 to schedule an appointment. 
Update on the New Headquarters Fire Station
The City of North Ridgeville is going to build a new 22,594 square foot headquarters fire station to replace the fire station on State Route 83 just south of Center Ridge Road.  
Safetyville 2017
The North Ridgeville Police Department is sponsoring its annual Safetyville Program in June 2017.  You can register for this year's program at the Kindergarten Information Night at the North Ridgeville Education Center on February 15, 2017 from 6-8 PM and at the North Ridgeville Police Department on Saturday, February 18 from 9AM-Noon.  All other registrations can be completed afterwards on a first come, first served basis at the Police Department.
