The Parks and Recreation Director is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the operations, programs, and services of the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. This position oversees departmental staff, coordinates recreational programming and special events, manages park facilities and improvements, and ensures the effective delivery of services to the community. The Director serves as a liaison between City leadership, the Parks and Recreation Commission, community organizations, and the public. See the job description for more details.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in parks, recreation and leisure services or related field, from an accredited college or university. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in directing city or district recreation programs of similar size cities and/or full-time management experience in public recreation. A Certified Parks and Recreation (CPRP) is preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

The Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for the administration and oversight of day-to-day operations of the Department of Finance and oversight of job assignments completed by staff within the department. This position oversees cash, revenue and expenditures of the City, prepares financial statements, assists in the preparation of the operating and capital budgets, participates in the annual audit and compilation of annual financial statements and other related tasks as required. Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator produces and coordinates the City’s internal and external communications and supports departments in communicating effectively with residents, businesses and the media. The position requires sound editorial judgment, accuracy under deadline and discretion in handling politically sensitive or high visibility matters. See the job description for more details.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing or a related field. Three or more years of professional experience producing written and visual communications for a general audience. Demonstrated ability to produce clean, accurate copy on deadline. Working proficiency in graphic design and layout software and in website content management. Experience in a public sector, nonprofit or similar environment preferred. Any equivalent combination of accepted training and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of experience as Ohio licensed professional engineer with valid Ohio P.E. license. A master’s degree in civil engineering may be substituted for years of P.E. experience, but applicant must have valid Ohio P.E. license at time of application. Experience in design and inspection of public works projects is preferred. Possession of a valid State of Ohio driver’s license, must be able to qualify for and remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.
