Street Paving 2017 (Including Schedule)

This year the City will spend approximately $1,200,000 in street paving.  As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Urban Paving Program, the City will contribute $355,000 to repave portions of Lorain Road/Route 10. Lorain Road will be repaved from the Ohio Turnpike ramps to the Cuyahoga line, including the I-480 ramps. The intersection of Lorain/Lear Nagle/Cook will be excluded as it was done last year as part of the Lear Nagle widening project.  In addition, Lorain Road west of Route 83 to Alternate 83, and across Alternate 83 to Chestnut Ridge Road will be repaved. As part of the ODOT Urban Repaving Program, ODOT will pay for 80% of the pavement items. This work is expected to go out for bid in May 2018 with work to begin June 2018.

In addition, the City will spend an additional $600,000 on residential streets using our own paving machine and crew.  The following is the anticipated list of 22 streets to be repaved this year (in no particular order):

Grant Drive
Harding Avenue (May 30-June 30, Prep, Mill and Pave; depending on weather)
Jefferson Avenue (May 30-June 30, Prep, Mill and Pave; depending on weather)
Lewis Street
Olive Avenue (northern half)
Pitts Blvd. (July 10-21, Prep/Mill; August 1, 3 and 9, Pave; depending on weather)
Timothy Drive
Wainwright Drive
Wallace Blvd. (northern half)
Washington Boulevard (May 30-June 30, Prep, Mill and Pave; depending on weather)
Wil-Lou Lane (July 10-21, Prep/Mill; August 2, Pave; depending on weather)
Woodlawn Avenue (May 2-5, Mill/Prep; Week of May 8, Pave; depending on weather)

In addition, the City will spend $250,000 on full-depth concrete repair. The following are the streets to be repaired this year:  Main Avenue and Theresa Street intersection; Behm Road cul-de-sac; Albert Avenue and Poplar Street intersection; Eastview Avenue at 6101; and, Denise Drive at 6077 to 6112, 6351, and 6378 to 6406.
