Stoney Ridge, Mills and Avalon Roundabout Project to Begin September 9
KMU Trucking & Excavating will begin construction of the peanut-shaped roundabout at the intersection of Stoney Ridge Road, Mills Road and Avalon Drive on Monday, September 9, 2024 requiring road closures.
Chestnut Ridge Road Bridge Replacement Project To Begin September 16
The Lorain County Engineer’s Office has engaged Great Lakes Demolition Company to replace the Chestnut Ridge Road bridge over the Dixon Ditch, just east of the Root Road intersection. To perform the work, the road will be closed beginning September 16, 2024 for a period of 75 days. Detour signs are posted.
Street Repairs and Paving 2024 (Revised 9-12-2024)
After careful review of the Pavement Condition Rating (PCR) report, the city has identified those streets to be repaved this year within the allocated budget. The PCR report includes condition assessments, identification of priority areas and maintenance and rehabilitation recommendations for the entire city network of streets, with the exception of interstate highways.
Safety Fair Call for Sponsors and Exhibitors
The 2024 North Ridgeville Safety Fair will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Fire Station #1 and Police Station campus on Ranger Way. This popular family-friendly event gives residents the opportunity to learn about healthy living and best safety practices in and around the home.
Active Transportation Plan Public Meeting
You are invited to attend the third and final public meeting for the North Ridgeville Active Transportation Plan on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the NRAC Community Room, 34620 Bainbridge Road. The planning team will present recommendations to improve connectivity in North Ridgeville through sidewalks, trails and other safety and mobility improvements. The presentation will also include priorities for Safe Routes to School improvements at ECLC, Liberty Elementary, Ranger High Tech Academy and NRAC.
School Safety Reminders
With most students returning to classes on Thursday, August 22, you will see an increase in vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Here are a few reminders including when to stop for a school bus.
Senior Center Spaghetti Dinner, September 27, 2024
North Ridgeville Senior Center is hosting a spaghetti dinner on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Center. Tickets available in advance at the Senior Center or at the door the day of the event. Cost: $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children 10 and under. Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, side salad and bread. Pop and dessert are available for $1 each. Dine in or take out. Proceeds benefit programs at the Senior Center. Thank you to the North Ridgeville Lions Club for sponsoring the event.
Lorain at Lear Nagle Traffic Study
Earlier this year, the City of North Ridgeville engaged consulting engineers at Woolpert to conduct a traffic study for the Lorain Road and Lear Nagle Road intersection and vicinity. The study is looking at existing conditions of the area, including traffic volumes, crash data, road geometry and more. This information will be used to develop short- and long-term recommendations for improvements in order to improve traffic flow and address safety issues in this high traffic area. Data collection for the study began in June. Draft recommendations will be proposed for public input this fall.

Bagley Road Bridge Closure (revised 9-3-2024)
The Bagley Road bridge over the Ohio Turnpike will be closed for approximately six months beginning April 29, 2024 due to construction work by the Ohio Turnpike Commission.

Longbow/Crossbow Deer Hunting Land Registration Underway for 2024-2025
For those wishing to register their land for the 2024-2025 longbow/crossbow deer hunting season in the city of North Ridgeville (starting September 28, 2024 and ending February 2, 2025) you will need to submit the required land registration application to the Police Department by mail: North Ridgeville Police Department, 7070 Ranger Way, North Ridgeville, OH 44039 or by email to [email protected].
