Fire Department Receives Two New Ambulances

Fire Department Ambulances

The North Ridgeville Fire Department is proud to announce the addition of two new ambulances to its emergency response fleet. These long-awaited vehicles will enhance the department’s ability to provide timely, advanced medical care to residents and visitors throughout the city.

The purchase of the new ambulances was partially funded through ambulance billing revenues, helping to reduce the overall cost to taxpayers while still delivering a critical upgrade to the department’s equipment.

“These new ambulances reflect our ongoing commitment to maintaining a high standard of emergency medical services,” said Fire Chief John Reese. “They come equipped with the latest technology and safety features to better serve the needs of our community.” Notably, the importance of up-to-date equipment and technology was a key theme that emerged during the department’s recent strategic planning process. Residents expressed high expectations for modern, well-equipped emergency services and this investment directly supports those community priorities.

With the arrival of the new units, one current ambulance will be retired, while the other will be retained as a backup unit to ensure continued readiness in case of high call volume or mechanical issues. The vehicles were ordered nearly three years ago and their delivery marks a significant milestone for the department following delays in production and shipping experienced across the country.
