Reserve your spot at the North Ridgeville Community Garden
Applications accepted April 14 through May 9, 2025
Spring is in the air and it’s that time of year to start thinking about the 2025 gardening season. The North Ridgeville Community Garden is open to all North Ridgeville residents. Applications for plots will be accepted from Monday, April 14 to Friday, May 9. If you had a plot last year, you will be able to have that same plot this year and then the additional open plots will be assigned on a first come basis.
The garden is located along Chestnut Ridge Road across from alternate State Route 83 at the roundabout.
This is the 15th season for the project. The two-acre garden has 95 plots, each measuring 20 feet by 15 feet. The plot fee is $20. North Ridgeville Community Care also has an area measuring 75 feet by 125 feet at the west end of the garden. The field will be plowed up by a local farmer in the Spring and then the plots are marked and laid out by volunteers. The plots are usually ready for planting by Memorial Day as long as Mother Nature cooperates.
Free water is supplied to the plots via a system of hoses connected to a main water source. A large tiller and a variety of garden tools are available to maintain the plots. Each gardener plants and cares for their own plot. Extra produce is donated to the North Ridgeville Community Care and can be put in a labeled bin near the west end parking area.
The North Ridgeville Community Garden Guidelines can be found below. The application will be made available on this page beginning April 14.
