The City of North Ridgeville is embarking on the process of updating the priority and vision of the parks and recreation facilities and services. As the heartbeat of our community, these spaces are essential for fostering health, happiness and a vibrant sense of community. With the previous plan updated in 2013, it's time to set our sights on the next chapter and create a vision that will carry us forward for years to come. The city has partnered with McKenna to help facilitate the planning process and drafting of the plan.
Our goal for the Parks and Recreation Master Plan is simple: to continue to enhance the parks and recreation system into a world-class experience for all. We aim to create spaces that reflect the diverse needs and desires of our community, promoting wellness, connection and an appreciation for nature.
Why is this plan important? Because we believe that parks and recreation play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents of all ages. Whether you're a child exploring the wonders of nature, a young adult seeking an active lifestyle, a family enjoying picnics in the park, or a senior finding connection at our senior center, our parks and facilities are here to serve the community’s needs.
Through this master plan, we will focus on responsible development and enhancement.
We will identify opportunities to expand and improve our current park system based on the input of the community and responsible fiscal forecasting. This includes revitalizing existing parks, exploring areas of expansion, and developing innovative amenities that cater to the diverse interests of our community.
