The tournament will be kicked off with Ken and Safety Service Director Jeff Armbruster pitching the first shoes at 12 noon.

Anyone interested in signing up for the tournament, singles and doubles, men, and women can sign up Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the start of the tournament at 12 noon. A blind draw will be held for doubles beginning at 11:45 a.m. Entry fees this year include a free t-shirt provided by Engineer Carney. The entry fee is $10 for doubles and includes a free

t-shirt. Singles is $5.00 if you have signed up for doubles, but if you just play singles it’s $10 and you get a free t-shirt! Any senior 65 or older will receive a free t-shirt and can play for free, both singles and doubles. All proceeds from the horseshoe tournament benefit the Meals-On-Wheels program provided by the North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults.

“This is s fun tournament with horseshoe players from all over the Lorain County and Western Cuyahoga County coming to this tournament,” said Ken Carney, Lorain County Engineer. “It’s a great opportunity for us to give back and support North Ridgeville’s Meals-On-Wheels program which also serves the townships of Carlisle, Columbia, Eaton, Grafton and LaGrange.”  Is an outstanding program that we know benefits many individuals in North Ridgeville and the surrounding townships served by this program.”

The North Ridgeville Office for Older Adults (Senior Center) has received proceeds from the Horseshoe Tournament the last 14 years. In that time, over $6,800 has been raised to help the Center provide Meals-On-Wheels to homebound seniors in North Ridgeville and the surrounding townships. Ken has also donated to Community Care and the USO with a total donation of over $10,200 to local organizations.

“We are really excited to be the beneficiaries of this event,” said Rita Price, Director for the Office for Older Adults. “Over 200 meals a week are served to our seniors through Meals-On-Wheels and we are certainly appreciative of this donation from the Engineers Office.”

Awards to participants will be given out immediately following the tournament.
