Pride Day French Creek Tributary Stream Cleanup, May 16

PRIDE DAY FRENCH CREEK TRIBUTARY STREAM CLEANUP MAY 16, 2015

To protect clean water and healthy habitats it takes the combined efforts of concerned citizens and volunteers working side-by-side to make a difference.   On Pride Day, May 16 2015, please join other volunteers to help pick up litter, recyclables, trash, bottles, cans, etc. from the banks of the tributary of French Creek along the new Town Center Walking Trail behind the Public Library and the banks of the lake at South Central Park.  Litter is one of the biggest contributors to water pollution.  When it rains storm water carries with it all of our waste into our ditches, streams and Lake Erie.  This harms the aquatic life and pollutes our drinking water.

The stream cleanup is scheduled for May 16, 2015 at South Central Park (meet at 8:45 a.m. at Pavilion #1 in South Central Park).  Pavilion #1 is at the end of the main parking lot near the restrooms.  Trash bags and gloves will be provided.  Wear your boots and dress appropriately for rain or sun.
