HOW TO APPLY FOR A UNITED STATES SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (SBA) DISASTER LOAN FOR UNINSURED LOSSES IN LORAIN COUNTY
The Governor of the State of Ohio has requested and received disaster loan assistance from the United States Small Business Administration (SBA). The request was due to heavy rains and flash flooding that occurred in Lorain County on the May 12th and 13th of this year. The SBA provides long term, low-interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes, and most private nonprofit organizations that had uninsured losses. SBA disaster loans can be used to repair or replace the following items damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster: real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, and inventory and business assets.

A Disaster Loan Assistance Center will be established at the following location:

The hours of operation will be:
• Tuesday June 10 – Friday June 13, 2014 (9AM – 6PM)
• Saturday June 14, 2014 (9AM – 1PM)
• Sunday June 15, 2014 (Closed)
• Monday June 16 – Thursday June 19, 2014 (9AM – 6PM)
Each approved application will require an on-site visit from an SBA representative. Additional information will be forthcoming as it is received.
“There was a tremendous amount of local effort and time that went into getting this declaration”, said Tom Kelley, Lorain County Emergency Management/Homeland Security Director. “The effort was coordinated through the Lorain County Emergency Operations Center by the Lorain County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Staff, and included the Lorain County Board of Commissioners, along with the effected jurisdiction elected, appointed, and emergency response personnel. Countless volunteer assistance hours also allowed for a successful outcome”.
