Chaplain
Home : Departments : Police : Chaplain
The North Ridgeville Police Department has had a Chaplain program in place since April of 2002. The program began shortly after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

The program is designed to assist officers in emergencies where the Chaplain's services would be of benefit to departmental personnel or the public, and to act as a resource for agency personnel or the public in spiritual or specialized matters. When requested, and at the request of the Chief of Police, the Chaplains may serve at public functions such as banquets and city sponsored events.

The Chaplain program was served well by our first Chaplain, David Woods, who resigned from the program in 2007 after a pastoral transfer to southern Ohio. After assessing the program, it was decided the program would be better served by two Chaplains, and after a thorough selection process, Chaplain Brian Palmer and Chaplain Dennis White were chosen to replace Chaplain Woods, and are currently serving our department and the citizens of North Ridgeville.
