Contractor Information
Anyone wanting to work as a contractor in the City of North Ridgeville must be registered with the city and is subject to the provisions of codified ordinance 1446.
There are three types of Contractors recognized in the city:
Contractor A: involving more than 1 trade (generally known as a General Contractor)
Contractor A: involving more than 1 trade (generally known as a General Contractor)
Contractor B: involving a single trade
Contractor C: involving repair, alteration, appliance installation or work other than new construction or replacement
Requirements for registration:
· Applicant must show 2 years of experience, or 2 years of technical training in an accredited school. An affidavit is required
· Registration period runs from January 1 to December 31. Renewal is required each year.
· Renewal period starts 30 days prior to Dec 31 and ends Jan 31. Renewal after Jan 31 doubles the registration fee.
· A Bond is required in the amount of $25,000.00 and must be submitted on the form in the registration package
· Proof of Liability insurance minimum $500,000.00 per occurrence and $1,000,000.00 aggregate is required. A minimum 30 days notice of cancellation is required in the event the insurance is cancelled.

Contractor A: Initial registration $200.00 Renewal $100.00
Contractor B: Initial Registration $70.00 Renewal $35.00
Contractor C: Initial Registration $70.00 Renewal $35.00
