CHIP Grant Public Announcement

The City of North Ridgeville recently received a $500,000 Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) grant from the Ohio Department of Development. The grant provides for two (2) basic housing activities: Owner-Occupied Private Rehabilitation and (EMERGENCY) Home Repair. These monies can be used to bring homes up to current health and safety standards and to address more immediate concerns such as a leaking roof, a failing furnace or a failing hot water tank. The grant also provides for Fair Housing services and program administration. The grant must be completed by October 31, 2013.
All participants must meet the eligibility requirements and income guidelines in order to qualify for assistance.
The application deadline for the (Emergency) Home Repair portion of the program is 4:00PM on Friday, November 18, 2011. The application deadline for the Owner-Occupied Private Rehabilition portion of the program is 4:00PM on Friday, January 6, 2012. Applications will still be accepted after these deadlines but will only be acted upon if funds are available.
Applications for the CHIP program can be obtained by visiting the Treasurer's Office (Room 106) at North Ridgeville City Hall located at 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039, durring regular business hours.
