The City of North Ridgeville has upgraded its phone system and transitioned to a new vendor. With this change and the opening of the new police station on March 18, all city phone numbers are changing, with the exception of the French Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This change will be effective March 18 at 5:00 a.m.

The North Ridgeville Community Garden is open to all North Ridgeville residents. Applications for plots will be accepted from Monday, April 15, 2024 until Friday, May 10, 2024.

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission will close the onramp at Interstate 80 east at Toll Plaza 152 on April 17 to begin work on the mainline bridge above the onramp. The ramp is expected to reopen August 1.

North Ridgeville Senior Center is hosting a spaghetti dinner on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5-7 PM at the Senior Center. Tickets available in advance at the Senior Center or at the door the day of the event. Cost: $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children 10 and under. Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, side salad and bread. Pop and dessert are available for $1 each. Dine in or take out. Proceeds benefit programs at the Senior Center. The Bagley Road bridge over the Ohio Turnpike will be closed for approximately six months beginning April 29, 2024 due to construction work by the Ohio Turnpike Commission. 

Safetyville is sponsored by the North Ridgeville Police Department and provides a fun, educational setting where children are exposed to various safety topics with regard to traffic, school bus, strangers, 911, fire safety and more.

Civil Service Commission is offering open, competitive written examinations to establish an eligibility list for BOTH entry level Patrol Officer Class "D" and entry level Firefighter/Paramedic Class "D" positions. Testing and applications will be accepted from Friday April 5, 2024 to Monday, May 27, 2024.

Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the Mayor, City of North Ridgeville, 7307 Avon Belden Road, North Ridgeville, OH 44039 until 11 AM on April 25, 2024 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for the following: Polymer, Ferrous Chloride and Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Bisulfite.

The North Ridgeville Visitors Bureau will be hosting the annual Discover the Ridge on Saturday, May 18, 2024. This is a family-friendly open house event throughout the city.

The City of North Ridgeville seeks proposals from qualified contractors to scan all documentation in the Building Division’s residential and commercial street files. Proposals will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on May 1, 2024.

Was your home built before 1978? The Lorain County CHIP Lead Safe Program provides free assistance to qualifying North Ridgeville homeowners to reduce or remove lead hazards in your home that may be found in windows, doors and siding. 

North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Bureau will be sponsoring their annual citywide Garage Sale Days on June 5-8, 2024. The cost to participate is $5. The 2024 Hydrant Replacement Project was awarded to Diggers of Ohio, LLC for $385,256.81. The project includes the replacement of 35 existing fire hydrants with work is expected to begin April 1, 2024.

Backflow prevention devices prevent contaminated water from entering the city’s clean water supply. Businesses and residents with lawn sprinkler systems and/or other systems requiring backflow devices are reminded to submit their backflow device tests to the Engineering Division by June 15.
